11 Birthdays: A Wish Novel

Liked this book because it was adventurous and interesting.I'd like to read more books like this because I love books that have a happy ending.In this story,Two kids born at the same time had ancestors who started a feud on Apple trees. That set these two kids in trouble. One day, a woman warned these two men that if they didn't end this feud, they would have a dèja vû. Every day the harvesting festival happens. The same thing happens when the two kids were 11 years old. The boy "Leo" said something mean and the girl " Amanda" overheard and got disappointed. That's when the deja vû started with them. Amanda experienced this and so did Leo. But Leo was to afraid to tell and ask Amanda because he thought she wouldn't listen to the note Leo had dropped on Amanda's desk when he was excused to go to the bathroom. So when class is over, Amanda meets Leo in the gardening field to talk. Once they make up, they search for what's going on. Suddenly, in the museum , they meet the woman that had made the deja vû curse on there ancestors. It was the Apple seeds she had given them on their 5 th birthday, she gave Leo an Apple seed from Amanda's great great grandfathers Apple tree and gave Amanda an Apple seed from Leo's great great grandfathers Apple tree. But when Leo said s poo me thing mean about Amanda on their 10th birthday, Amanda threw the Apple tree out of her window along with all the other things that reminded her of Leo. So when they find out that that's what is going to protect them from the curse, they search for the sturdy Apple tree. On the last day they think they did everything right , they had a party and did the toast. The next day,it was Saturday! I rated this book 5 stars because I loved it and I hope to read more books like 11 birthdays.:)

I love this book. I am using it in tutoring sessions with a couple of children this summer and am enjoying it along with them. I find myself generating the "What if" questions all through the book. What if this really happened? What would it feel like? If you changed one thing, then what would happen to the other things in your life? Would you rewrite your life? Eleven Birthdays has all the elements of a good read for kids; strong and sympathetic characters easy to identify with, a little "magic", and some opportunities to place oneself in Amanda's place and think about what it would be like to repeat her birthday over and over again. There is also a lot of good interaction between kids, reflecting middle school peer pressure, and the power of being true to one's self. I purchased this on Kindle and loved the book.

I loved this book as soon as I started it! A friend told me about Wendy Mass, and I've enjoyed all of her books that I've read so far. 11 Birthdays is funny, witty and interesting, complete with suspense and adventure. Amanda and her world comes to life in the pages of this amazing book! Wendy Mass did an excellent job on the whole Willow Falls series. Especially in 13 Gifts and The Last Present, she slowly unfolds the pieces of the puzzle, till the whole story comes together at the end. This book is written very well and a good read!!! it was good but in the 3rd chapter her sister got ask out by a boy on their naber hood but she did not say yes because he played wit lagios but befor papa we played with lagio and they were the heard ones and that was one year ago so she did nkot need to put that in there but it was good overall

I love this book series and so I'm glad to finally have the 1st book again in my collection. I had all the others but not this one, it's great quality

This is the best book I've ever read. Through hurt feelings and repeating days, Mass makes you laugh and cry at the woes of the lives of Amanda and Leo, best friends and (later on, in other books) soul-mates. The book is told by Amanda's point of view. She is forced to relive what she considers the worst day of her life over and over again. Leo, a sensitive boy who writes poetry, shows his care for Amanda (after admonishing her horribly) by always giving her a shoulder to cry on. Leo and Amanda maneuver their situation of the repeating day with funny quotes, heartfelt apologies, and hidden love for each other. This is the best book I've ever read!

I have read this book at least five times before. I have read almost all of the books by Wendy Mass and none of them so far disappoint. Wendy Mass is my favorite author because her books are SO GREAT!!!! I have read all the books in the Willow Falls books that are out so far, and am waiting ever so patiently (lol not really) for the next on to come out on April 26.... which is super close!!! The Willow Falls series is actually my favorite book series... you MUST read this because, along with all the others by Wendy Mass, it's really good! I'm 12, but I read it for the first time when I was 10, and I still LOVE it!!Thank you, Wendy Mass, for another awesome book. Why am I even surprised? :D

I didn't know that this was a children's book until I started reading it, but it caught my interest and it stayed interesting and clever throughout. I loved that there was no really bad stuff happening in this book and it was still a fun and engaging read. If you want to read a great adult novel, check out "Shards" by Rod Surratt. It is a fabulous read. Not usually in the genre I would choose but it caught my interest from the beginning and the adventure goes on and on. Intriguing story and fascinating characters! You'll enjoy it!
