13 Gifts: A Wish Novel

You'll love it more if you've read Finally first
My 13-year-old daughter turned me on to Wendy Mass when she first started reading her books 4 years ago. We both love her.13 GIFTS is a Willow Falls book, meaning that the characters from 11 Birthdays and Finally are back. It's not a sequel and the story completely stands alone, but you will appreciate the "in jokes" if you've read Finally. And who wouldn't want to read that? It was hilarious and heartwarming. In 13 GIFTS, we meet Tara, who is a bit of a loner. She's moved around a lot, so she's learned to just keep to herself. This saddens her mother, who is always encouraging her to make friends. In an effort to please her mom, she gets tangled up in a scheme with some other kids that causes her to get suspended. She was supposed to go to Madagascar with her mom and dad (her mom would be working, studying lemurs in their habitat), but instead, she has to go to Willow Falls to stay with her aunt and cousin who she barely knows.Tara's not happy about it, but she's not totally mopey either. She ends up making friends (Willow Falls literary characters Rory, Leo, and Amanda, plus David) and getting caught up in a couple of projects that she tries to keep a secret from her family.I don't want to give a lot of plot details, but if you liked 11 Birthdays or Finally, you will most certainly LOVE 13 Gifts. If you have a daughter in the 4th grade and up, share some Wendy Mass together.

Great book - very age appropriate
My 11 year old daughter is loving this series of books. They are entertaining, clean and age appropriate, I catch her reading it often and she isn’t typically a big reader.I ended up purchasing a few more in the series for her for Christmas and she’s almost finished them already!

THIS IS AN AWESOME BOOK!!!!! PLEASE READ IT!!!
13 Gifts was an incredible book. You're most likely going to like this book A LOT more if you read 11 birthdays and 12 finally. I like 13 gifts better than the other three in the series. In 13 gifts they combine all the characters from 11 birthdays and 12 finally (Amanda, Leo, Rory, and David) and it is fun to know the characters when you read the story. In this book the new character, Tara, moves around a lot so she doesn't really know how to make friends, but in this story she meets Amanda, Leo, Rory, and David and becomes close friends with them. One of the best things about the book was that there was always rising action. It never seemed to stop; there was always something exciting going on. Like on one page everything would be normal and on the next an entirely new problem would appear! I NEVER wanted to put the book down! I really loved the story and I hope that you read and enjoy it!

It is awesome!
I like this book a lot, but I suggest you read the first two books, 11 Birthdays and Finally, first, so you know the characters in this book. This book takes place in Willow Falls, as usual. The main character, Tara Brennan, is being sent to Willow Falls because of the goat accident. First this seems like a normal story, as you read on, it gets more complicated. It is like a web, and everything connects. The oldest and strangest person in Willow Falls: Angelina D'Angelo, asks her to find thirteen mysterious objects in Willow Falls, or the consequences will be really bad. In the end, Tara finds out that things she believed are not what she thinks they are, and she learns a lot. I hope this will help you.

Cute and Fun!
I loved the Birthday series! It is a great read for those who enjoy a fun and short-but-sweet kind of book. I bought most of these books on my kindle, but haven't reread them. The story itself had a plot very similar to the other two books, and I found that it was predictable. The book itself was good, but you shouldn't have to read all of the books in order unless you want to meet the characters. I must say that I did enjoy this series and I do recommend it.

PAmazing
This book is amazing. At first I didn't want to read this book but it turned out to be a beautiful book and amazing. Plus it is worth 13 ar points. the narration also helps slot and you understand it much better than when u read it yourself. It may seem hard at first but once you get to the middle of the story than you can't stop reading. I was behind my reading grade and when my dad got the narration I finished the book in 2 days.

Wendy Mass Does It Again
13 Gifts was an excellent book, worthy to continue the Willow Falls series. My first book by Mass was Heaven Looks A Lot Like The Mall, and I was hooked. Mass did it again in 13 Gifts. This story combines elements of 11 Birthdays and Finally. Tara moves to what she thinks is just the nowhere town of Willow Falls, and discovers, with the help of some newfound friends, that the town has a lot more going on than it's showing. Overall awesome book!
