Perfect for Large Invisible Door. Supplied Template is Off Just a Tiny Bit.
Finally a latch that works! I built a frameless hidden door for my furnace closet and used the wonderful SOSS Invisible hinges which are also available from Amazon, but could not figure out a good invisible latch system. My first thought was magnet, so I tried a couple of home center push to release magnets but they were too weak. I then upgraded to the Sugatsune touch latch but it was also too weak. Someone else recommended the Southco push-to-close latch but it was not what I wanted and it had a plastic actuator. I finally ran across this and am pleased as I can be that finally something works. I do agree with others that reviewed this before me that the supplied template is a slight bit off and did not work. I had to get inside the closet and mark the position for the catch in order for it to line up straight. This latch has a very strong spring action which is perfect for the larger doors. You have to really push in hard (almost a whack) in order for it to open. Once you get it set the door stays closed and is suitable for a large closet door like what I have for my furnace room.

Doesn't work
This thing is not worth $10 much less $50. It is cheap and very difficult to install. Ives, you can do better. Stay away from this latch.

Hidden latch
Hidden latch was perfect for what we needed. Matched the old 1955 one and fit perfect, holes in latch for mounting were spot on!

Heavy duty catch, but loud and doesn't work well from inside the door
We bought this for a bedroom door. We wanted a "hidden" look with no handle. The idea was you could give this door a light push and open it with this latch. From the inside, there was a small handle that you could use to pull slightly to release the latch. At first, the latch didn't work at all. Then, we realized that it was screwed too tightly into the door frame. After loosening the screws, it started to work from the outside by pushing with some force on the door. However, it was still hard to operate from the inside. Also, it was darn loud and a little jarring. We decided it didn't work for us and sent it back. We settled for a lightweight magnetic latch used for cabinet doors. Not nearly as strong, but did the job. If you have an application where you only need it to open from the outside and you need the catch to be pretty strong, this might work for you. Be prepared for a loud crack when you open the door. I wouldn't recommend it if you have to open the door from the inside.

Waste of money and time.
Quality must have degraded because this thing is utter junk. The template is off and the pusher is sticky. What's the point of a strong spring if the pusher is stuck in? If I could give zero stars, I would. Congratulations Ives, this waste of money inspired me to write my first Amazon review.

Tough closer
Easy to install, even though alignment has to be perfect. After use found too stiff for my purposes and went another direction.

DON'T BUY THIS
I had this exact latch installed 10 years ago. It breaks EVERY 6-8 MONTHS. There is a plastic piece inside. And it breaks. This time, it was broken when it arrived!! Because of how my door is put in, I can't locate another latch that fits. Don't even start with this. It's a never ending source of aggravation.Note: It's now Oct. 25, 2021, and this latch broke yet again. That's 12 of them that have broken. I guess I'm going to have to hire someone to install something else because these are breaking faster and faster. Now it broke in less than 4 months. They used to last 1-2 years before breaking.
