Durable, well made, great sound
Worked great and does exactly what is expected. I consider myself somewhat of a music junkie and as far as I could discern these did not affect the sound quality in any way. I use this in conjunction with a stereo male to aux converter in order to more easily connect my phone and iPad to my surround sound system. The wires fit in tight into the coupler and I have not had any problems with them getting loosened and falling out, even with extensive jostling. They're a solid build and are just the right weight that they feel durable. The surface of the coupler has those six rings and is covered in "grip" dots (for lack of a better term) and they serve their job well - it is extremely easy to connect and disconnect aux cables using one hand. Overall it's serving its purpose well, and for a great price - no complaints after several months of use.

Its a great product that does what it was made for
Cheap and reliable. so far (2 years) I've had no problem with this product. I use it to split frequency with an audio splicer to my headphones and computer speakers, and as an extension unit to add a longer audio cable. I feel no difference in sound quality, and this item feels sturdy. not much to say about it other than the fact it works and its been working well for more than 2 years without any flaw! the audio cables I connect to this piece connect and lock into it well, no need to worry the the cable will fall out or disconnet in middle of use.the big message: will recommend this, and for the price, I couldnt find anything better that is cheaper.

Simply put... it works.
It works. Does exactly what is is supposed to do. Solid construction, good visual appeal, nice "solid" connections on both ends, and I have not experienced any static, or other audio signal degradation.P.S. I have no idea what "sheerness" and "thickness" mean in the star portion of the review, so I just split the middle on both.

Sound quality reduced using this
I find that the sound quality is much lower when using this. It's more high and mid range sounding, with less lower end (bass). I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on using it for listening to music and watching films.

Lighter than anticipated
A heavy duty design and not much heavier than a plastic equivalent. I weighed both a plastic RadioShack 3.5mm TRS female to female coupler and this same metal Hosa coupler using an accurate pelouze SP5 digital postal scale. The plastic model weighed in at 8 grams and the metal version weighed in at 10 grams. I don't find the additional 2 grams of weight of any real significance myself and the fit is no more slack than that of the RadioShack model. This is a very good device and I admire it's durable construction. Hosa's heavy duty adapters and connectors are well known by audio professionals for their high quality and durability. FYI - 3.5mm TS & TRS connectors are not generally considered to be 'professional' grade devices.SP5 Digital Postal Scale

A terrible buy.
For $2.99, it will cost me more of my time and money to send it back than its worth. The coupler itself is heavy, metal, ridged, and looks totally badass. This is it's only good part, and the exact reason why I thought I'd get one. However it's performance and appearance are WORLDS apart. 1st off, the connection isn't that great. This is not the deal-breaker though. What made me most unhappy was that the description stated Stereo, and its clearly Mono. I even tested multiple cords, headsets, and etc... but nope, it's clearly Mono.Whats worse its not even good Mono, the sound quality takes a dive too. Tested the sound quality using FLAC and MP3 versions of the same files. This specific coupler degrades the quality far worse than anything else I've tried in the past.Do not buy unless you want to take the chance that my unit just so happened to be a special case

Expensive but you have to pay for endurance nowadays
I needed a simple 3.5mm coupler and though this one was the most sturdy of the lot. Can't beat a metal build(Unless the metal causes signal interference in certain applications of course) It was more expensive than I would have liked and should have been $1-$2 cheaper but I guess you have to pay a disproportionate amount of money to get good build quality. I mean hey look at apple, their laptops have in most cases better and more sturdy build quality than pc laptops because of unibody metal construction. Is it worth the $100s extra just for the construction vs a pc with equal specs plus money left over for a netbook....absolutely not...but why not splurge on the little things(within reason)

Connection not stable
The sound out of my right earphone does not always work when I use the coupler. Sometimes there is no sound and sometimes the sound is less than the left earphone. I have to rotate/turn/twist my earphones in the coupler until I find a connection that produces sound in my right earphone. I have tested the coupler with a few other things and the same thing happened. However, when I use my earphones and other cords without the coupler, they work fine. Given that it seems I can find a position that does work after some twisting, I’m going to continue using it.
