Dual CS 429 Fully Automatic Turntable with Die-Cast Aluminum Platter - Black

My thirty-six year old B&O turntable started dying a couple of months ago. I spent, like many other reviewers, hours researching a new table. I considered fully manual tables costing twice as much. I came across a couple of audio equipment reviewers who I knew from other purchases who said this is not just a great automatic table but a great table period.So, I took the plunge remembering how good Dual of old was.I am absolutely not disappointed. Setup was straightforward and after testing with and without the onboard preamp I went with my Denons onboard phono input.This is a great sounding table at a good price and the automatic feature works perfectly.

This Dual turntable is fully automatic and that's what I was looking for. It starts itself and when album is done playing, the arm will return automatically and shut off. Perfect! Sound is fantastic! German made and engineered. Solid, heavy unit, nothing cheap about this unit, very well made! Love it!!

Major improvement in sound quality compared to my old Technics direct drive turntable. Worth the money. The supplied upgraded cartridge is a major plus; otherwise I would have had the extra expense of replacing the inferior brand supplied in cheaper turntables with similar attributes.Strongly recommend.

I was having a problem adjusting the weight of the tonearm. I put it on a scale and it read 2.5 grams but it was skateing so I added another gram, much better. I have it on a Pioneer SX 1250 reciever and 2 Pioneer HPM 200 speakers. Now I guess i will find out how the Ortofon 2m red stylus wears. The full-auto is set up perfect. It sounds really good but I think the older Dual turntables were just built better. If only i was younger.. Price and build quality = 4 Stars Rock on ~

Plays great in living room for casual listening. Might want to upgrade cartridge for a more serious listening space. Overall very happy with the value and quality of this fully automatic turntable.

OK:So, after research of at least a Month while this model was out of stock i perused hundreds of options -some as much as a loaded Camry, I decided this was the best value for me,Esp. with the fully automatic function which I know I will appreciate going into the future. Most folks might not remember the classic days of the LP but I sure do, this i suspect a reasonable amount of money for the gear or visa versa.Replacing my forty Yr old Classic "Concept" from the '80s - I didn't need a lot of "bling" I have low expectations for the life span most of what I see "repeated" on the searches.Set up was a breeze if your new to Component Systems. Everything is Incl.Design is top notch.

The turntable sounds great.

Online reviews of this turntable said it's pretty much audiophile sound quality with fully automatic operation and they were correct. I'm recording all of my old vinyl LPs to MP3 so I can listen to them anywhere and the auto stop/start feature is great for making recordings plus my hands are not as steady as when I was younger. My only gripe is no lip on the dust cover to lift it without getting fingerprints on the surface. I end up lifting it with the two little rubber pads intended to cushion it when it rests on the deck.
