Q: I just got these and am really questioning the quality. Anyone else suspect their boots weren't true Frye's? They looked terribly made.

I’ve had mine five years and they look as good as the day I got them and I wear them a lot, definitely the real Frye boots.

Q: How does the toe box of the Veronica compare to that of the Women's Engineer 8r ankle boot?

They don't look the the picture. These don't stand up straight. The toe is in between boxy and pointed. Sorry I can't be of more help, but it's squarely in the middle of those two styles.

Q: Does anyone think I would be able to wear the soft black leather ones in the rain?

I have the "Smoke" ones and they have been fine in the rain.
