Westinghouse 7247600 Sumter Two-Light Reversible Five-Blade Indoor Ceiling Fan, 52-Inch, Brushed Nickel Finish with Frosted White Alabaster Glass Bowl, First Gen

I got this fan as "used- good cond.", for less than half. It arrived in the original box and everything was there. It looks new, like never been mounted new. I get comments on how good it looks. It puts out plenty of breeze and is balanced perfectly. No noise or vibration, even on high. I would buy it again, even without the discount.

This will have to be a 2-part review as I had it installed right before leaving on a trip. I had it installed by a professional, so I can't comment on the installation. It was a replacement for an older fan/light. The fans in my house are probably around 15-20 years old. They seem more substantial then the Westinghouse fan. I'm not yet sure if that is a positive or negative. I will say that when I wiped the fan blades off, then it was odd how they bend so easily.I chose this fan, because it was mid-range price-wise and I really liked the alabaster white lighting fixture. There were no problems with the installation and we didn't notice any initial problems or excessive noise. It definitely makes a noticeable sound when it's on the highest setting. Our old fans rattled also, but I was hoping for near-silent this time around. I tend to keep it on the low setting and so far no annoying clicks or noise. Once we get back, then I'll be listening to it everyday and will report back.Overall it is working out as expected, but we will be using it 24 hours a day shortly, so we will see how it holds up.**Update: We are still loving this fan! My daughter pointed out that she loves how the pull chains have pictures of light or fan on them, so she always knows which one she wants. We are definitely happy with this purchase and would purchase again!

Looks fine, and is great if you don't use the fan, but the fan is no good for two reasons. First, because the light bulbs cast light both up and down, the blades cast shadows on the ceiling. Not good for sitting around at night drinking and gazing up at the ceiling - totally makes you dizzy. I never thought about it before, but that's the reason most ceiling fan lights are downward facing. And second, it hardly moves any air at all. I can't explain it, because the blades are "tilted" (or whatever it's called), there are 5 of them, and when it's running there is air woosh sound. But even on high, there is virtually no air movement below it that you can feel. I'll be replacing it, which I guess is good for Amazon, b/c I'll just order a different one and hope it works better (the lights will be downlights, at least - you can bet on that).

The fan I received (and consequently returned) did not push air into the room on either setting for cooling or warming. I am unsure if it was a motor specific problem for the fan I received, or a common theme with Westinghouse fans, but I didn't have the time or money to go back and forth with them for replacement parts, etc. Thankfully, Amazon, as always, was more than willing to fix my problem and return the fan for me. I gave it two stars because it is an extremely aesthetically pleasing fan, just not functional to my knowledge.

I would not recommend this fan to anyone!!! It is cheaply made and the pictures look way better than in person. It's so cheap that i could bend the "metal" part and it came bent as well. Not sturdy and shakes really bad. We have tried to fix it but nothing works...spend the extra money and go with Hunter!!!

It moves air quietly and the light is adequate. I had the fan installed within 20 minutes. I had no issues with balance and the motor is quiet. My only nit-pick is that the bulbs are a non-standard size so I had to make a trip to find some that would fit.

The most beautiful fan I have ever owned. Just perfect.
