As it is made of plastic it can sweat the finger but it protects it very well. It offers some comfort and it is a very good buy of a high quality product. I would have preferred a thinner version that is as well made as this one. For those that use the side of the finger during sewing it can be somehow uncomfortable as it has hole on the side and the needle can get there. Review: It’s a little creepy looking but I love it! - Honestly, it’s kind of icky to look at with all of the holes but I love it and it’s my “go to” thimble for hand quilting. It works like a charm and it’s comfortable. I have very small hands and fingers so, if it’s cold, it doesn’t fit as snuggly but it hasn’t fallen off either. If it were to get too loose, I’d just wrap a little medical foam tape around my finger and I’m good to go. So far, that hasn’t been an issue. There’s no worry about rust since it’s a hard plastic. I don’t remember if it’s supposed to be breathable but I haven’t found a thimble yet that doesn’t make my fingertip feel damp once I take it off. When I’m wearing it, I don’t even notice it. This is an awesome little product and the price is great too.
