Call Me Daddy

Awesome!
This was my first book from the author and I must say it will not be the last. I loved her style or writing and could feel the characters emotions. The MMC and FMC are both hurt from things in their own pasts. I love how their relationship progressed and how it ended. I never thought I had a daddy kink, but after this book I might. 😜

one chapter away from being a thriller
This is the second book. I have read from this author and I read it because I read another one called bait and I wanted to understand more of her style. I couldn’t decide if I liked it at first but now I think I do it’s just kind of poetic I guess and just unique and interesting and it’s very much a stamp on who she is as an author which I think makes her stand out you can read her books and go oh yeah for sure this is a Jade West novel. I’m not really into the whole daddy kink it kind of creeps me out this book. Definitely had that creep and factor in the whole time. I’m like oh no! But just like the last book I read she really turns it around at the end of character, growth and understanding and relationship growth. It kind of just makes you go. 00 OK OK so they’ve moved past it. They’ve grown. I don’t know it’s a roller coaster ride that I think is interesting to go on and I would definitely read more of her books and recommend them.

Good Smut, Not So Good Story
This book has really good, detailed smut. That’s a given. I really liked how detailed it was compared to some stories I’ve read. I could easily imagine it. I also like the reliance they have on each other. It’s a good book to read if you like dirty, romantic fantasies, but probably just that. There isn’t that much of a plot and backstory is kind of lacking, but it is still there somewhat. It’s just not as relevant it seems compared to the sex scenes that are written. There was character development, but that also seemed to be lacking a bit. It just didn’t make as big of an impact to me and I feel like it should’ve been detailed or explained more to really show the change. It doesn’t seem as good when you still barely know much about Nick’s past or how he is (the author kept mentioning something about how dark he could be in the narrative and how intense/hurtful he could be and Laine had no idea but she never really explains or elaborates on it). Compared to Nick, Laine had more character development so it seems off balanced when the author’s goal was to have them both go through development. Also the sudden change from Nick’s obsession to the kink to wanting to not be as kinky was off putting because I thought it was too drastic and quick of a change for him (as I said though, Laine’s development was way better). The ending in my opinion was kind of rushed, too. The last sex scene didn’t really read as well as the others and seemed kinda sloppy compared. I like how the epilogue closed off with “Call me Daddy” but it just seemed empty compared to the other parts of the story. It kind of ended with more of an unenthusiastic “oh, it is over” when I was expecting a Big Bang and more of a nice close off. It would’ve been nice to see their kids or at least Laine pregnant since that was a major story part/theme in the story for awhile, but I get that the author wanted to leave it as an open ending to their new future. Also this is my own personal opinion, but if the author is going to mention Nick promising anal sex and writes a bunch of other kinky scenes, then she should have written the scene or at least mentioned more about Nick wanting to do it at the end. It’s like the author kind of forgot about it, and I was (admittedly) looking forward to it, lol, since Nick constantly talked about it. Again, another major story part/theme left out. There was also some grammar mistakes I caught but nothing too distracting. So overall, this story is a good story to read if you just want to for the smut (which I’m sure most of us are here for anyway and this was most likely just written for smut) but it could’ve been a better story too. I’m sure Jade West’s other stories like “Teach Me Dirty” are good plot-wise, as I’ve heard from others, but just not really this one. Other than the lack of plot, the things I said that were left out (such as the missing scenes and background elaborations), and the rushed bits, I enjoyed the read. It’s definitely my kind of smut.

Daddy!
This was such a good read and really did a good job of showing the dynamic of their relationship without it being cringy. The spice was spot on.🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

it says it all in the title
This was my first book about daddy play, and I’m not sure it’s for me. As the character would say, it was pretty icky. The sex scenes were good, but not great. The problem is there is no real story or plot. Spoiler, I also could not stand the belt scene. It was completely unnecessary and that was the point where he should have turned it all around instead of after. I can’t say I loved either character, Nick was, not lovable enough and Lainie what is too naïve and too childish. I mean, how do you go from saying icky and wearing pink fluffy socks to asking for it harder and in the ass in the same sentence. They just didn’t make sense to me. Also, the ending was very abrupt. Like all of a sudden we’re supposed to believe that they are now a normal couple, that will have children and get married but still play daddy in the little kids room.

Good Taboo
This book is a dirty steamy wonderful taboo read. There is a 20+ age gap with a lot of kink play. The FMC is looking for love but doesn’t really know it. The MMC is looking for a reason to really live life again, even though he doesn’t see it. A chance run in late one night shows that fate is still working. The spice between the FMC and MMC is hot and taboo and oh so good.Overall I give 3.75 stars and 5 peppers.

This crossed some lines for me
I got pretty far into this book before it started to eat at me. I have no issues with the DD/LG trope, it’s a pretty common occurrence on my bookshelves. *Spoilers*However, some aspects of this story crossed a bit of a moral line for me. I knew from the moment Nick mentioned corporal punishment the way he did that it may come up but it wasn’t until the end that it was blatant. At one point (Kelly Anne’s birthday), Laine breaks a rule and Nick gets mad. Rules are straightforward and the way the author gets over this moment was well done but I wish it hadn’t happened at all, or that they grew together a different way without this happening. He punishes her pretty brutally (she asks for it, to be fair) over something she couldn’t have controlled or helped. He was taking out the result of his trauma on her and it was very unfair. It just rubbed me the wrong way, but they did learn from it and grow afterwards.Another warning, there’s not quite water sports in this but it gets pretty close. That’s not an issue for me but it did come out of nowhere and I know not everyone is into that, and I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere in the description beforehand. Otherwise, it’s a pretty standard DD/LG trope novel. Well written and plenty spicy. (No diapers or bottles, just girly things etc.)

The story had me glued to every moment, I couldn't put it down
The storyline was amazingly well written, it carried well though the whole book to the pointed where I didn't want to put it down to do other stuff. In the few months I've had it I've read it around three times. I love the book.

Just amazing! If you're not into DD/LG then don't read but if you are....you're in for a treat
I absolutely loved this! I literally couldn't put it down all day until I finished reading it. Spicy, romantic, sweet and so well written. I'm looking forward to reading more of Jade's work!

Sooooo good! ♥️
A beautiful story about 2 people who complement each other perfectly. They haven't had it easy before they met, but they help each other grow towards a bright future. Together they go from surviving to living and enjoying life. It's so beautiful to see how they grow together, how they trust each other through and through, how they give each other just what the other person needs and therefore also feel better about themselves. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read more books by Jade West! Super written! ♥️

Call Me Daddy
Laine is in desperate need of someone to love/ take care of her, enter Nick a charismatic older gentleman who will do anything to please her. Is there a level of icky in this... Yes. Did it stop me reading... Hell no. I actually love the ending and thought it was perfect, some people are meant to find each other regardless of circumstances or age gaps. Another steamy read from Ms West
