The LTM8 was built for hot days and active adventures. The full mesh crown adds exceptional breathability to the unmistakably dapper Tilley silhouette.

Very good quality, but buy from another seller...
UPDATE 7/14/2014 :The second LTM8 (for my son) just arrived, from the seller 'THINK FAST'.It was all folded/compressed VERY tightly, to fit in the smallest possible nylon bag. As a result, the brim has permanent creases, which makes the hat look silly. With such disregard for both the product & customer, no chance I'll buy form 'Think Fast' again. The first LTM8, from 'OUTLAND USA', was packaged much better - in a flat cardboard box.The brim was flat, only the crown was folded in.The hat arrived in perfect condition.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^'Been out for a few hours today, a hot summer day, wearing this hat. Just got back, and there's this email from Amazon, nagging for a review, so, why not... ;-)Fed up with cheaply priced & cheaply made hats, I tried the Tilley way. The result was that this is my second Tilley. The first one is the TH5, 'Moca' color. Very good quality, comfortable, looks nice.I ordered this LTM8 for the hotter days: The brighter (Khaki) color makes it absorb less heat than darker colors, the mesh crown dissipates heat pretty well.Beyond the superb marketing strategy:-) and the famous guarantee, it's really a well designed hat, the cord, for instance.Unlike many other hats, the cord is NOT sewn to the crown, so it can be easy replaced if ever needed.Typically, I'd refrain from using it, because I think a hat looks better without it.Reality doesn't yield to wishes -- there's wind...The chin and the back coeds are formed from the same one-piece.For lighter wind, the chin cord would do.In stronger wind, the hat could still be blown off forward. Add the back cord, and the wind gets frustrated instead of you. When not in use, the cord tucks inside the crown. It's soft & light enough to not let you feel it's there.

sizing issue
good quality , stylish . The sizing calculator tells you how to figure your size . However i feel the hat is a bit snug if you go as to the hat sizing calculator .http://www.davidmorgan.com/hatsizing.htmlorder a slightly big size than what the calculator tells you of you want a bit of headroom on the fit .ie if you find out your size is a 7 , order a 71/8

Superb hat
Tilley hats are terrific, and I particularly like this style (LTM8) because it has wider brim in front and back, and my dermatologist says I need all the sun protection I can get. This would be my third Tilley hat -- to replace the last one I lost. I have an uncanny ability to leave them behind in restaurants or other public places. Usually they are there when I realize it and go back, but alas, twice they were gifts to lucky finders. In any case, in my book, these are the best hats you can buy. For some reason, my usual size 7 was too small on this order, so had to return and reorder. Amazon made the return easy. No problem.

Condition of hat after five years of use does not match claim of lifetime wearability
After four years of usage, twice a week for golf, the brim flops down over eyes making it unusable. The eyelets started to deteriorate and get covered by verdigris (green sludge), after 2-3 years. Looks pretty shabby. Humidity in this area is 75-80% average, and 90” rain, but my other hats like Stetson and Herschel, which are 20 years old, have not shown any deterioration.

Lightweight and sun protection for the win!!!
Amazing hat! Got it as a gift for my dad and he immediately flew off to Argentina and put it to good use. Just make sure you know your head size!!

So far, so good - I like it
More expensive than I originally planned for when looking for some 'sun coverage'; but the styling, function, guarantee, and reputation convinced me to give it a try. I'm quite happy so far. I think it looks and fits well, and it should protect me as much or more than some of the alternatives I was looking into.

I like the look and feel of this Tilley hat
I like the look and feel of this Tilley hat, particularly the vented mesh sides. It fits perfectly--loosely--and has a large brim for sun protection. Also, I really wanted something that could withstand a strong wind and rain, which it seems to do. Although I haven't worn it much, and not in very hot weather, I think it will be perfect for an overseas trip that I'll be taking this summer.

Nice brim.
Warmer than I thought/hoped it would be but the brim is the prefect size.
