Another Elisabeth McNeil triumph.
This story captives you right from the beginning. You can almost taste the salt in the sea air as Elisabeth McNeil describes the small fishing village in the first few pages. Brilliant story. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I Couldn't Put It Down
I haven't read anything by this author before but I was absolutely gripped. I hadn't heard of the story of Eyemouth either, so I need to learn more. A huge storm took the lives of many fishermen from the village and for Rosabelle it was impossible for her to make a new life even though she had a new baby to take care of. We follow her story and that of the other women who were left to fend for themselves. I am looking forward to reading the next in the series to find out what happens to her. Would give it more than five stars if I could.

Excellent story!
The best novels have excellent characters at the heart, and The Storm is no exception. These characters are deep, real and keep you turning the pages after you know you should've turned out the light and gone to sleep. The plotline is heartbreaking, but, of course, you knew that from the description. I wasn't aware of this event in history, but -- as the book goes along -- you really see why the town would require generations to overcome such a thing.I'm looking forward to starting the next book tonight.

The storm took away their real life
One never knows what nature can do but in this case it destroyed life and livelihoods of a whole generation of men. This loss became tragic for those that remained

Unusual
A book that I could scarcely put down. And a great picture of life in that fishing village and its people. I really prefer a good solid ending..
