Not the tightest grip on the gutter.
They don't have the tightest grip on the gutter so move about when your stringing the lights. This means that you start at one end and by the time you get to the other pulling the lights has moved the clips a couple of feet along the gutter. To be fair we had some strong-ish winds over Xmas and they hung on.
