Almost perfect!
Not a deal breaker for me. But the battery life is the hindrance. If you use this for browsing or media consumption, it will have a decent battery, but not on par with the iPads. Bottom line, best Windows tablet/2-in-1 out there.

Screen Flickering Ruins this Device
On the third day, the display started to flicker. Badly. I performed a Windows 11 Reset and the display continues to flicker. Hardware defect. Attempted to return for replacement and Amazon will not replace, had to settle for a refund.

Best Microsoft Surface To Date
This is the fourth Microsoft Surface 2-in-1 I have owned, and it is the clearly best. Microsoft has checked all the boxes for user's desires resulting in a product that does not disappoint. Best features include robust performance, larger display with brilliant colors, good overall battery life and modern peripheral access ports. The new type cover offers a convenient storage/charging slot for the pen and the docking device has been reconfigured and improved, although they are not backward compatible with earlier Surface models. Prices tend to be at the upper end of the scale but coupled with Windows 11 the overall satisfaction has been provided.

Even better than my beloved Surface Pro 6
I got a Surface Pro 6 a couple years ago when starting law school, and I loved it. Part of my rationale for investing in a pretty expensive laptop was that keyboard accidents are the mostly likely for me, and it would be better to replace a keyboard for a couple hundred than to have to buy a new computer if something happened. Unfortunately my type cover stopped working a few weeks ago, and because of the upgrades to the Pro 8, the available type covers weren't compatible with my device. I got the Pro 8 as a new investment/replacement, and the improvements are minor but still apparent. For example, I love that fingerprint recognition is a possibility (with a compatible type cover) because it enables me to quickly unlock my computer at work even with my mask on. The slim pen charging groove is also an excellent innovation (it was hard to keep track of my original Surface pen with my 6 due to the magnetic side situation), and I like having the volume and power buttons on opposite sides. Overall, it's just a bit more polished than its predecessors. I've been singing the praises of the Surface Pro line since I got my first one, and I expect that to continue in the future.
