Why does my ice maker still show “Add Water” even when there is water in the tank?

If there is water in the tank but the machine still shows an “Add Water”, the issue is usually not caused by the filter. In most cases, limescale buildup inside the machine’s internal water lines may restrict water flow and affect normal operation.

Does this mean the replacement filter is defective?

Usually, no. This type of alert is more commonly related to scale buildup or internal machine maintenance, rather than the filter itself.

Can hard water affect my ice maker?

Yes. Hard water can lead to faster limescale buildup, which may affect water flow and overall machine performance over time.

How often should I descale the ice maker in a hard water area?

If you live in a hard water area, regular descaling is recommended. Hard water areas are more prone to scale buildup, so more frequent descaling may be needed depending on your local water conditions and usage frequency.

Is this filter intended to fix machine descaling issues? What should I do if the machine keeps showing the warning?

No. This product is a compatible replacement filter for regular filtration use. Please follow the ice maker manufacturer’s descaling and cleaning instructions in the user manual.
