UV gel steps: -prep nails (file, push cuticle, lightly buff w coarse buffer, cleanse w alcohol to remove ALL debris and oils) -tip: apply all coats thinly, THIN = STRONG, thick = will settle and cure thicker at tip and edges, prone to lifting peeling -tip: remove uncured UV gel booboos from cuticle edges BEFORE they cure ROCK HARD on skin -base coat, cure LED lamp (all cure cycles 60 seconds) -color 1st coat, cure LED lamp (black no-wipe UV gel polish if you'll be using chrome powders) "no-wipe" means no tackiness after curing, no need to wipe w alcohol cleanser -color 2nd coat, cure LED lamp (black no-wipe UV gel polish if you'll be using chrome powders) -apply dusting of chrome powder, GENTLY rub in w eye shadow applicator, silicone applicator (love this tool, also found at art supply stores), NO OIL CROSS CONTAMINATION from fingertip or cuticle -perfectly prepped and cured surface should yield mirror finish and color shift; if spots don't take powder, wipe seletively w alcohol cleanser and reapply powder, I achieved 100% coverage and blending -tacky surface may yield less mirror and more "glitter-like" appearance -top coat 1st coat (same clear as base coat), cure LED lamp -top coat 2nd coat optional, cure; wipe tackiness w alcohol cleanser -apply cuticle oil -marvel at your accomplishment

I love that this works on normal nail polish and still delivers a chrome finish. I really didn't want to use something that was going to require me to get into the gel polish world, so I was so happy that this worked. A little goes a long way, which is good. It's such a small amount of product, I feel worried about wasting it!!! Lol, I almost wouldn't mind paying more for a more double the product just to have less anxiety about wasting it. Lol, but I expect this to last me for quite a while still. I got the best results using this on black nail polish and a top coat. I just used my pinky finger to apply the powder. I picked up just barely enough to fully coat my nail, being very careful not to waste any of it on the surrounding skin. It washes off, I just want every particle to go to use, lol. Just make sure you use a top coat that won't "shrink" your polish, because it makes flaws in the chrome finish. If anyone has any experience with Seche Vite, you probably know what I'm talking about. Would I recommend this? Absolutely. Yes, it's expensive, however, it's still only $20, and I expect this to last for quite a few manicures. I think it's a fair price for such a unique product that actually works really well and is so easy to work with.

I’ve always wanted to try What’s Up Nails chrome powder but it’s pretty expensive. However it is very pigmented and applies very smoothly. The result is mirror-like chrome that shifts colors depending on the light. I used black gel polish and a gel top coat as a base before applying the powder with an eyeshadow applicator sponge. I’ve used lots of other (cheaper) powders and can’t quite get this same effect because others aren’t as pigmented. The amount in the jar does seem small but I guess you have to take into account that you need a very tiny amount to do a full manicure. I would love to be able to afford to get more colors! If you’re looking for probably the best quality chrome powder and don’t mind spending more than $20 on a very small jar this is for you!

I use this product I used with gel nail polish. If you the directions you'll find that this powder works perfectly. I find it easier to put on with actually just my finger tip and you don't need alot to actually get the effect that you may be looking for. So far I've gotten ocean and Royal and I love them both. Even though some of the reviews will to say that you don't get a lot of product I really can't find another powder that works as well as this one.

Very messy to use and after careful application and following directions I was disappointed. May give it another shot. The color really ends up looking like a shiny blue.

This powder is stunning but I cannot justify spending over $20 for such a small amount of product. I compared to other products have that were cheaper and bigger viles. Twinkled T, Born Pretty. Same beautiful effect at a cheaper price and more product

It doesn’t take much powder to get the effect that you desire because the color is so saturated. Best suggestion is to use only what’s on the cap. Shouldn’t need much more than that. The only problem I have is the shipping and distributing. Seems like the power doesn’t stay in the container it’s ship in. Love this product line despise the containers they are shipped in. Often times I will lose grip on the little jar and it will spill everywhere.

I love this color and the effect, as soon as i got I used in a friend and was really cute, the problem was the top coat I used at the time, it didn't do the best job. The other example u can see that is clean and way smoother. i applied a thin layer of a non wipe top coat and cure it on LED lamp for 60s. the product itself can be applied with your own fingers if you don't have a eyeshadow applicator. Just dab a very little amount.. have fun! totally recommended!

I buy alot of chrome from Whats Up Nails normally but before i did that I bought one off of amazon. Well...the difference in the amount of chrome powder was astonishing. The one from Amazon had more than half less than the one from What's Up purchase. How is that possible?? You would be better off to buy from them directly.
