Q: How are these turned on and off? I’m thinking if this for a wheelchair but need to know if that person can turn them on and off while sitting.

Great question! We’ve had Activ Lites installed on several wheelchairs now. Rather than attaching the battery pack to the center hub of the wheel, it was attached near the outside of the wheel. There is a button on the battery pack you press to turn the lights on and off, so you do want that easily accessible.

Q: When it says multicolor light can you change it to a single light color?

Multicolor (aka Rainbow) Activ Lites are a combination of 22 bright blue, green, pink and white LED bulbs. The bulbs all stay the same color, but when you ride, the colors blend together to create a really cool effect.

Q: what is the battery life on these?

Great question! You can expect at least 12 hours in the constant on mode or over 24 hours in flashing mode. We supply 3 AAA batteries with every unit. You can replace them with dollar store batteries or use brand name alkaline or even rechargeable batteries if you prefer when you replace them. The benefit of the AAA batteries is that they are lighter and the battery compartment is more compact, allowing Activ Lites to fit 12” kids bikes all the way up to 29” wheels. Most model only fit bikes with 20” to 26” wheel sizes.
