Sodastream is in trouble.
I have now donated my sodastream. Used it for years and was constantly annoyed by needing to stand in line at Walmart customer service for 30 min every time I wanted a CO2 refill often only to be told they didn't have any to refill. This sparkel is amazing. Not only does it create a wonderfully fizzy drink, you can use it with any liquid unlike the sodastream which fizzes over if you try and infuse bubbles into anything that already has flavoring in it like juice. Furthermore, you can get the little packets delivered to your door instead of having to drive around to track down a store that has CO2 refills available. I like the convenience of the packets and like to keep the warranty intact, but some people save even more money by just buying baking soda and citric acid and making their own. The number of things you can make sparkling is astounding, the lack of need for CO2 canisters, the set it and forget it setup, the included dishwasher safe bottle (sodastream makes you buy one seperately) and the ease of use makes this machine worth every penny. Already planning on getting friends and family one as a gift. No idea why sodastream is still in business with this as an option. Get it you won't regret it.

Awesome replacement for SodaStream
I've had soda stream for a few years and have enjoyed making my own beverages. I prefer using the mio water enhancers and make water varieties based on my mood. I've always been disappointed that you carbonate water and then add flavor. I've wanted (and tried) to carbonate other things, much to my chagrin. Also, it's irksome to realize thst I forgot to exchange my empty cylinders when I go to the cupboard to put in a new one. This solves these issues. You can carbonate anything you want and there is no cylinder to exchange. Put in the powder packet, pick your carbination level and hit go. I also didn't realize that the co2 from the canister was adding an unusual flavor to my drinks until I tried the Sparkel. It's a cleaner taste. Yeah, it takes a few minutes to fully carbonate the bottle if you choose a higher carbonation level. I start the process and usually have something else to do in the kitchen at that time so it's not a big deal. I like my beverages supercharges and so go for level 5. It takes just about 4 minutes to run through at this higher level. Only a couple minues for a lower level. I've had no issues with the machine. It worked perfectly every time right put of the box. I'm quite pleased and highly recommend.

Sparkel system so easy to use
Wanted my sparkling water without the hassle of cartridges. This takes care of that, plus you choose how much carbonation you want...and you can use just about anything you drink! This has helped me cut way back on soda consumption. If you're one of those people that feel soda just doesn't quench your thirst, get this machine! My favorite is a lemon ginger tea bag added to bottle to carbonate. I love it so much, brought my machine along on a trip! Get this machine!

Carbonate ALL the things!!!
This is the carbonator I always wanted. I had the Sodastream ones before, and honestly got tired of them rather quickly. With this one you put your ingredients together and THEN carbonate your drink. No more slowly pouring syrup into carbonated water and watching it go flat almost immediately.I would say that the one con I have found with this carbonator is that you are using the same amount of packets if you choose light or heavy carbonation, so it is most efficient if you like a lot of carbonation. If you only like a faint amount of carbonation, a tank-based system would be more cost efficient. Thats the only downside in my eyes, and honestly I prefer the packets to the hassle of trading out CO2 tanks any day of the week, even if I was paying more. The packets also give me a better idea of how many drinks I can make before needing to restock/refill.

IF YOU ARE HESITANT ORDER NOW
I got this as a birthday present and it is my favorite kitchen item. It is so easy to use compared to the old cannisters. only downside is the powder does get a lil messy over time and very hard to clean up as it ahderes the the machine and counter top easily

Really wanted to love it, but it’s just “okay”. Lots of room for improvement. End up selling it.
It’s great for convenience and it’s definitely better for the environment than buying bottled or canned drinks (it takes lots of energy to transport and recycle them), but financially it’s still about the same cost as buying generic store brand or La Croix seltzer.I tried making the carbonator mix myself. The baking soda is easy to get, but it also requires crystallized (not powder) citric acid which is really tough to find.I only use level 5. Anything below 5 isn’t worth it. I don’t even see a point in having a setting above 5 and wish there was something stronger. Unlike drinks carbonated with CO2, the carbonation falls flat quickly so you have to drink it right after you make it. This isn’t something you can store or save for later. Within an hour, mine is flat (even with the cap on the bottle.)I really wanted to love this, but find myself a bit disappointed. I still crave the occasional canned seltzer. I’ll keep my Sparkel and continue to use it though I won’t be raving about it.Edit: I ended up selling the Sparkel on Mercari and switched to a Sodastream. The Sparkel gets so messy and makes a mess on the counter. Keeping up with the cleaning of it was tiring and the Sodastream is far cleaner. I'd rather pay to exchange CO2 canisters than continue to fork over money for overpriced baking soda and citric acid packets and cleaning supples to keep this messy machine from ruining my countertops.

No need to use CO2 tanks
I have been using soda machine because I don't have to carry all the heavy water in soda bottles/cans from grocery store. But the problem with the old machine was having to purchase CO2 tanks and also having to travel far to the store that carried it.Now with this Sparkel system there is no need for a CO2 tank. It uses common baking soda and citric acid to generate CO2, and that's smart. It is lighter and cheaper. It is so nice to be able to make any kind of soda with your own flavor.
