Great strainer that removes any traces of bacon so you are left with pure, clean bacon grease.

So, the materials are pretty flimsy but for what it's for, that's fine. Stainless, easy to wash, and useful. However, if we're storing rendered fat, we want it to last as long as possible right? This thing isn't even close to airtight. There's a pretty hefty gap between the strainer and the container, and yet another gap, albeit slightly smaller between the strainer and the lid. If I had saved the box prior to realizing there's no way I'm going to use this for what I wanted it for, I'd have returned it in a heartbeat. I can't recommend this. Also, it's twice the size of what you'd probably want to commit to storing in your fridge, but that is accurately listed in the title and description and I just overlooked that. 2 stars is for the actual design- it's really nice, just engineered mega poorly.

Came with a scratched up lid. Definitely made on the cheap side, from China with Chinese letters on the box but for the purposes of throwing away grease it will do. But the strainer part does appear to be to small if you are looking to separate cooking grease and food bits. If you want something cheap this is it, but if you want something more sturdy and quality don’t buy this one.

Having recently converted to a carnivore diet, I am cooking a lot of bacon. This grease saver is perfect for saving the precious grease for use in other dishes. I can remember in the 60s and 70s when these were a standard part of kitchen equipment, and I am glad to see the resurgence of their use.Being stainless steel, the container is easy to clean. The strainer helps keep the grease within pure, and what is strained off is useful too. I am very happy with this purchase.

I recently started making agedashi tofu on a regular basis. I needed a container to store the used frying oil for future use. I used to pour the left over frying oil in a thick glass preservative container with gasket lids, until the bottom of the glass bottle container exploded from the hot oil.So I saw this at Amazon and purchased it. The container itself is stainless steel, it's not very thick but sufficient for what I need and better than a glass bottle container. That means I can pour the used oil without having to wait to cool it at room temperature. It comes with a fitted mesh strainer sufficient for separating fried food particles from the oil. If you need to strain smaller particles like fried garlic powder from the oil, you may have to add a coffee filter to do so for a cleaner strain. The size is sufficient for my needs and the lid, though light and thin is secure. Perfect for storing wok oil without having to purchase those thick commercial restaurants aluminium containers used in Chinese restaurants.
