Hello well I got four Citrus trees tested and the tip broke on the first tester. I like how it was fast reader. The screen is hard to read at angles and in the Sun. So has I said I broke the first one tip broke. So I’m using a Philip screw driver to push in the dirt to make a sleeve for the tester to go in dirt. So I came up with this idea before I went to the Box store for a replacement. Of course they only one they had was the two prong. So now I have to make another hole in the dirt. For the second prob and there close together. Ok these trees are In Arizona clay and rock. Got the last Citrus tree done. Now I am doing the garden. Now I’m in new organic topsoil soft. What happens as pulling it out of the soil and one of the tip broken off. Not to good two in one day. So I think it needs to be solid metal all the way. I’m back at ordering the second one of these. This meter is incredibly simple to use and appears to be quite accurate. However, the data screen is very hard to read unless you are at the proper angle, which is very difficult to do when it is inserted in the ground - we have to nearly lay on the ground to get our eyes down to the proper angle. It would be nice if the head rotated back, or if the readings could be locked to allow reading them on the screen after pulling the probe out of the ground.

I got this as a PH meter, all of the other features were extra. I just don’t think that it works very well. When testing PH it’s best to test just after watering when the soil is nice and wet. I’ve done a lot of research on this topic. The meter will give a different reading every time you stick it in the soil, and depending on how deep you stick it. It showed my soil was crazy acidic when I just don’t think thats the case. Plus the moisture meter will claim your soil is wet if there’s even a tiny bit of moisture. I don’t use this thing to know when I should water my plants, but if I did my plants would probably die. Anyway I know this might be disappointing to those who really want one of these to easily check your soil, but in my opinion it doesn’t work very well, if at all.Update: I updated the review to 3 stars since the temperature readings are accurate. I can use this as a compost thermometer. So now that I actually have a decent use for it, I’ll give it credit where it is due.

I bought this mainly to monitor the soil pH of a Persian lime tree I'm having trouble with. I recently sent in a sample of the soil to a lab and the analysis came back with a pH of 5.15. This meter reads 5.0 for the same soil. I was hoping it would at least be close but didn't expect it to be so accurate so I'm very happy with that. Moisture meter seems to work well also and construction is good for the price. Takes four AAA batteries and is working fine with rechargeables. Good product for the price, no complaints.

Impressed with quality, accuracy and ease of use. I have two indoor growing area's and purchased a second meter so I don't need to share locations.

I have bought cheaper meters in the past and was impressed by the difference in quality and function of this meter. Works really well. We have lots of plants inside and on the porch . So I needed to keep up with watering in different conditions and pot sizes . This product helps us to easily tell if we are under watering or over watering our potted plants .

Be careful with the probe when pushing it in the ground can bend and may break. The screen read out is not good and when taken out of the dirt goes off to quick to get a good read. When not in use be sure to remove the batteries. It’s ok just be careful with it.
