Works - kind of
Overall, I could demonstrate to my son how a DC motor works.Things to improve:1. the instruction sheet is unusable. Please have a native English speaker rewrite it.2. By default the permanent magnet holds the rotor at an angle where one copper commutator segment shorts the motor terminals. The motor therefore can't start without hand-cranking first.Either make the segments shorter, or offset the segments at an angle so at startup the terminals are not shorted.

Love it. Great for Science experiments
Motor works right out of the box with little construction. Minimum fuss...Just put a couple of pieces together and your done ..up and running. Quality parts and materials.

Worked brilliantly...until we broke it with a rocket
Easy to assemble and my son built his rocket project around. Worked great until the rocket ripped it from its clamp and destroyed the plastic.

Works, with some tweaks.
I used this for my high school physics class, to illustrate how a brushed motor works. There are no instructions for assembly, but they did figure it out; my main issue is that the brushes don't make good contact with the commutator, and thus the only way we could get it to work was to physically press the brushes against the contact. We did manage to bend them so that they will keep working for a little while with no pressure (then the contact declines, and the motor slows down and stops), but this isn't the best way to show how a motor works. I know this is inexpensive, but it does seem like just a little better design would make this work properly. I debated about returning this; decided to keep it, but give it 3 stars.

Kinda low quality but it is 10 bucks
We had to resolder the wires back on on some of the rotors. Pretty low quality but ok for students.
