Wood Handle Fire Starter Ferro Rod Gift Set W/Finger Grip Survival Bushcraft Gear (Light Brown)

OK, with this ferro rod set I now enter the world bushcraft royalty. I wasn’t expecting much when I ordered it. I have several ferro rods of all sorts of shapes and sizes but I didn’t have one with a handle and I thought that was the kind of thing a bushcrafter should have for purposeful use. The rest are for when you have to bug out or your plane crashes into the Alps. So this one was being offered at an introductory price & I thought this would be good first try.I was wrong. I am torn between being buried with it or leaving it in my will to a yet unborn grandchild. I gasped when I took the beautiful box out of its Amazon package and opened it.First of all, it is huge. No need to buy that corvette. Secondly, it is gorgeous. The polished wooden handle with the form fitting grip and matching striker are just too beautiful. I almost didn’t want to put a scratch in it, maybe just frame it and put it under my Van Gogh knock-off. But, I did so I could write the review.The striker worked perfectly. I think I would like a couple more so I don’t get clinically depressed in case I lost it. The rod emitted a nice shower of sparks when I used the striker down the shaft. Damn good ferro rod set. That is what I am trying to say. I would buy some more as gifts if I knew anyone I thought was worthy. The packaging and presentation screams gift giving. Of course no one can have mine. Myyyy precioussss.The price could be 4 times what is and it would still be a nice buy. I am looking forward to buying more items from Holtzman as they all look well designed, conscientious and a touch of sexy(TMI?).Should you buy it? Yeah, I guess.

As stated this is a very comfortable Ferro rod in the hand with finger grips, and is long and thick although I havent used it as of yet. It came with a small ferro rod and striker nearly placed on 550 paracord for a necklace which was a nice gift and I now wear it daily.

This is the ferro rod set I ordered for my child. This thing is an absolute beast! It looks to be very well made. Unlike other ferro rods, it is long, thick and beefy with a surprising amount of weight to it. The wood handle, embossed with the company’s gorilla head logo, is polished down to a beautifully smooth finish. It comes with a matching wood handled striker and a black lanyard with a smaller ferro rod attached to it. Everything is packaged inside a black gift box. As for its functionality, the longer rod makes it incredibly easy to create the sparks needed for a fire.If I had to say anything negative about this ferro rod, I would say that I wished the striker was a little thicker and maybe a little longer. I think the striker should match the ferro rod’s heftiness. But it’s such a very minor detail and the set works beautifully the first time every time regardless. So don’t let my pickiness detract you if you’re on the fence about spending the money for this beauty. Go ahead and buy it. You will not regret this purchase!

Throws amazing sparks, even with a stainless Mora Garberg. Carbon knifes work even better.This thing is big, tough, easy to hold and works amazing, as well as looks great. I got a leather belt sheath for it that really adds to the already awesome appearance.

Ok. I'm going to be honest- ferro rods are amazing as they don't run out of fuel & they work in the rain. However a lot of them aren't easy to grip & won't give sparks the best on better days. Please please please try this one out I promise you won't be disappointed.When I opened the box I found a wooden handle beefy enough even for those that sometimes have a hard time gripping (me included) & a large enough rod that you'll definitely get a strike as you practice if you're new or old at this. The quality is amazing & I terrified gsmiky members because I was scraping some of the costing off & had some monster sparks without intending to fight aaay.I'll tell you what else- I don't buy for myself often but I wanted one that could fit on a necklace & there it was.... A necklace with the toggle ferro on it. You could easily put the striker on it too.I can say that I don't leave detailed reviews like this typically but I'm sincerely impressed.If you're a newb or a pro with ferro rods,please give the business owner that makes these a chance. You'll probably be able to start thousands of fires with how big the rod is plus it's a superb gift idea.I'm going to order from him again.Perfection in a ferro it is said yoda lol
