Smaller size book than I thought. But it’s full of useful information! Great pictures and descriptions! Very happy!

What a great book! Its not too big and can easily fit in your backpack. Pictures are in color and are fantastic. Glad I bought it.

This is a good book for amateur rock hounds in Oregon and Washington. Most books for identification will class rocks and minerals by chemical compositions. This book classifies by the location, ie. Oregon, Washington, or both states. It also shows the general area of the state where it can be located. The pictures are high quality and aid in identification and give you an idea what to look for in the field.

This is my favorite of the three books on this subject I ordered. It’s small and has sections for easy identification. Love it, can throw it in your backpack when your rockhounding

Perfect small size to stick in your pack on the go. Great info and lots of pics! I have been a rockhound fanatic for a few years. I have several books that are too big to pack around with me. Not only the size and info but the pics are more like what you would find out “hunting” so it’s easier to identify them compared to other books I have and still use as reference. It’s also very handy that it has locations to find them!

Book is as advertised and compact enough to carry in a cargo pocket. Easy to look up/identify rocks and minerals. Various pictures are included with the rock/mineral descriptions. Excellent book for beginners!
