Tastes like YooHoo and that's good in my book! SEE UPDATE, new formula sucks monkey hiney
2016: WERE 5 stars 9 years ago/Not the same today. Formula changed. Watch out for slime/chunks. Please make sure to check the reviews posted by users at the EAS site -- reviews dot eas dot com under advantage carb control. Many, many folks experience nausea, revulsion, etc from the "floating slime" and the "chunky" gunk. Why EAS had to screw up the protein version of YOOHOO, I do not know. But they lost me as a customer.Old Review from 2007: Okay, here are the stats on EAS AdvantEDGE chocolate fudge carb control ready-to-drink shake: 100 calories for 11 fluid ounces, which contain 15 grams of protein and 4 total carbs. Minus 2 of fiber would be about 2 impact carbs, though the label says 1. So, either 1 or 2, depending on how you calculate it. I did say 100 calories, right? This is my fave of the low-carb, high-protein drinks. Why? Cause it tastes like YooHoo and I grew up as a kid loving a chilled bottle of YooHoo. If that's a flavor that works for you--a sort of sweet and watery version of chocolate milk--then this might be a fine addition to your protein snack roster.Notice I say snack. I don't think 100 calories makes for a satisfying meal. This drink doesn't carry the satisfaction punch of the gross-textured SlimFast Optima, and it doesn't carry the filling power of an Atkins shake (Eww, didn't like). But EAS Chocolate Fudge AdvantEDGE tastes good (to me), and it's low enough in calories that it's a good between meal snack to keep the blood sugar steady and the binge attacks at bay.So, for a nice, cool, sweet, YooHoo-ey snack, here ya go. But if you are going to use it for meal-replacement, add something to it, a garden salad, some fruit and a bit of low-fat or fat-free cheese to get you up closer to a proper meal calorie range.Oh, and shake VERY VERY VERY WELL, or you'll end up with some gross choco-sludge at the bottom of your can. That's not a good thing.Thumbs up!Mir<--on a diet

Disappointing
On the whole, disappointing. Apparently the maker has been changing formulas -- mine was very thin, more of a strawberry-tasting "drink" than "milk" or "shake." It has no milk solids I can tell. In fact, the major ingredients are simply water, soy protein isolate, and pea protein concentrate, with lots of added vitamins and minerals. One good aspect of this formula is that an eleven-ounce pasteboard container of eleven ounces has only 100 calories, and the protein of 17 grams is not bad. However, one thing any nutrition drink or "carb control" drink should do is give the user a sense of satiety or fullness -- I don't get that since the substance is basically ramped-up water with protein and vitamins. Nutritionally, I could do almost as well with a glass of no-cal lemonade and a vitamin/mineral pill. In my opinion this is a fairly steep price to pay for a not-very-tasty drink with no "hold" factor.

I really am good with the taste of these especially when chilled
I really am good with the taste of these especially when chilled. My main problem with these is the packaging. EVERY single time I have one, no matter how lightly I twist off the lid, they leak. Every single time. Right at the point where you drink from...like underneath that plastic top thing. It's annoying. I'm not ordering them again because of this. The flavor is good. I ordered several cases of these and another flavor and didn't lose any weight even with drinking one in the morning, one in the afternoon and having a normal dinner. No cheating. About a month of this routine and I saw no difference in my weight. And unlike when I did veggie/fruit smoothies instead, I was finding myself really hungry in between and craving food. It was hard to stick to the 2 a day and one full meal. I felt hungry all the time. With no results, I gave up. I think the smoothie thing worked better because it made my digestion move along better than these drinks. I was kind of "blocked up" with these.

Very Surprised!
The taste isn't bad at all. I have just started a low carb way if eating and I thought I would add in a protein shake for meals as well as snacks. These are quite good. I have tried the vanilla, dark chocolate, strawberry and the caramel latte. I can taste a hint of artificial sweetener in the dark chocolate but not the others. I still haven't tried the chocolate fudge yet. From reading the reviews here on Amazon, I think I will keep that flavor at a safe distant...One reviewer said that she thought that the choc. Fudge shake actually made her tongue numb. That's one review that I will trust, for sure! :-)Oh, and as far as filling you up? No, they won't make you full like a thick shake will do. It does take the edge off of the hunger though. And I like that they have so much protein in each one.I find that they don't upset my stomach like the regular Atkins shakes did. Even Slim Fast would cause me to have stomach aches and cramps. Not these. I'm really happy about that!!

Great taste!
I love this product, the only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because it has 5 less grams of protein (15) that a lot of other shakes. But the carbs are super low, and it is packed with more vitamins that Muscle Milk. The taste is great, but then again I love these kind of drinks. Packaging is pretty solid, its tetrapack like many of these types. I don't notice huge hunger suppression after taking these but I eat a lot anyways. Makes a fantastic meal on the go, takes two to really fill me up for several hours, I'm male 165lbs workout 3 times a week heavy lifts, so for a female I think 1 would hold you over for a whole meal. I love em, will order again.
