Worth a try
No complaints here. It smells nice straight out of the package and smells even better in a mug. Price-wise, it is not much different from established brands in the supermarket, but it does seem to have a bit more flavor somehow—hard to explain. Worth giving it a try.

Description Is Misleading
Not strong, not dark roast - at least not this batch. A better description would be - Medium roast with very light flavour. Very disappointed, and am going to ask for a refund for mis-selling.

Some awkward things like a seemingly misleading strength but good taste
If you were to overlook the origins of this variety of coffee it'd be easy to be concerned about the rather short shelf life and the weaker than expected strength compared to what is advertised but having read it via the description (and did a bit of self research to confirm it) it makes some sense or at least I can make some assumptions that make me believe so. The idea is that the original was due to wins and humidity during long transports and so they recreate it by leaving it in wind and rain for quite a while which understandably would mean the shelf life is naturally shorter, it also changes the flavour to be smoother and more mellow than what it would have tasted pre-exposure. Other than that I prepared it as I would any other coffee resulting in something I still think was pretty tasty though admittedly something tells me the roast could have been darker though I will leave it to others to explain just how dark it currently is as I admit to not being too knowledgeable on roast levels. That aside as someone that likes to try new things I feel like it could still be decently recommendable to try and I am not biased because of its ties to a charity (even though I obviously appreciate it).

Aromatic, bold and full-bodied; low acidity; with depth and character
The beans arrive in a sturdy bag that provides excellent protection against light and moisture. Their rich, deep, chocolatey-brown colour is complemented by a subtle oily sheen from the natural oils—not overly oily, but just enough. Before grinding, the aroma is bold and distinctive, blending smoky, woody notes with a delicate hint of spice, reminiscent of black pepper and clove. Grinding the beans intensifies this aroma, sharpening the smokiness and bringing the spicy, woody notes to the forefront. Once brewed, the coffee takes on a velvety, almost syrupy texture, with a dark, inky hue that feels indulgent. The aroma deepens further, filling the room with bold, toasted notes, a gentle nuttiness, and the faintest trace of dried fruits, like raisins. On tasting, the coffee is bold and full-bodied, with a low acidity that gives way to a smooth, mellow finish. Flavours of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and caramelised sugar take centre stage, balanced by a savoury undertone. A lingering smokiness adds depth, while the clean finish is accented with a subtle touch of spice, leaving a comforting warmth on the palate. This strong, complex coffee feels both intense and refined—just the thing to start my mornings on the right note. I would gladly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a coffee with depth and character.
