American Psycho

I grabbed this as a last minute Christmas gift and didn't pay too much attention to what I was buying. It wasn't until I came in that I realized it was a script for American Psycho, The Musical.I can't knock it any stars for that because it's my own mistake. Just adding this review in case someone else is about to make the same mistake. It could be better labeled though, as the listing is for "American Psycho" and leaves off "The Musical" entirely.

Having seen the movie, and being a fan of Christian Bale, I wanted to read this book. Its a short novel in size, but the pages are crammed. Many of the paragraphs have no punctuation, as if to illustrate the sporadic and spontaneous of a psychopath who's losing control of themselves.That I can deal with. I've read thousands of books. I have a huge collection of books. But imagine if I were to list every book here, along with the author, a description of the book, what I thought of it, how much it cost. where I bought it, what the weather was like that day, how long it took me to read it, what shelf is it on, what does the cover look like, my thoughts on the cover art, the font, the publisher, other readers, and so on and so forth. This is what reading this book is like.I have sludged through many books I didn't like simply because I believe if you buy it you should read it.But this book, makes my eyes ache and my brain want to sleep.There isn't a page, where what type of clothing someone is wearing, what brand, where it was bought, how much it costs, etc is not mentioned. Watching the movie, you get that Bateman is obsessed with his body, his looks, his clothing, and that of other people as well. But in this book, its seems like the main focus of the story and whether or not Bateman is a killer is thrown in as an afterthought. Its like fashion vomiting on the pages. For many readers, I would imagine most the brand names are lost on them. Usually the movie is not as good as the book. In this case, the book is far worse and it will be the first book I have thrown in the garbage in my life.

Contains the ENTIRE script in a small yet cute size. The only songs missing are "True Faith" and "I can feel it in the air tonight". The print is small but this is meant for actors. Not for the common people like us. Remember, if you want to preform this you should liscence the show first.
