Makes learning fun!
"It's just great, so informational!" "I've learned tons of information and cool facts." Quotes from our 9 year old son. He was first introduced to the Basher Science series in 3rd grade--"Rocks and Minerals". Since then, we've purchased most of the series for our children's home library. Our younger children aren't yet ready to read them but our 9 year old LOVES the series and uses them as both resource and reading entertainment. The books make learning fun with clever characters and bright illustrations.

These books are phenomenal
I purchased several Basher Books for my 10-yr old son. They are amazing. They are both fun to read and very educational. The writing is great and the art direction keeps things interesting as well. A lot of the books even come with posters. My son has the periodic table of the elements poster hanging on his wall...right next to Super Smashbrothers.

Great intro to atypical topics
Basher is a favorite here, and this book, which introduces a lot of higher concepts not normally covered in elementary (or high school!) life science is great at spurring exploration and library trips to investigate. None of the Basher books are a complete study in themselves, but as a fun read that encourages going deeper, they're great.

Kids Are Interested
These Basher Science books are super great for a classroom library. I teach 4th graders, they love the half dozen or so of these books that we have. I do a little preview and the kids are hooked! Gotta love it when they don't realize they are even learning.

Kids like it, not sure why
My kids really like this series, though I'm not exactly sure why - the illustrations seem just OK and the content takes difficult concepts and tries to make it easy for kids, but it ends up confusing and I don't think they really end up understanding what the book is trying to explain sometimes. But that might be more because of the difficult concepts. I think if they stuck with easier science concepts it would be more effective but again - my 7-year-olds like them! This one is a little funkier than the others though - for example, a "face transplant" is kind of interesting but a little too wacky for me to feel like it's really educational.

Fun books for kids
All the Basher books are a blast for my son to read. He's 10 and dyslexic but he loves science. Basher puts tons of high level material into books that are written in a colorful and easy way to read.

Interesting book - great pics - kids are learning and do not realize it! :)
While I bought this for our high school biology read, my kids keep reading it for fun! I take this as a good sign!!
