Recommendations: 3D modeling and CAM (the tool passes): Fusion 360 G code sender: UGS works really well for me Endmill for cutting aluminum: 1/8 in 3 flute carbide endmill. (Speed tiger here on desertcart hasn’t failed me once. Literally. No snapped endmills ever) Old review: I think it’s a solid little machine and I love it very much. But on my most recent CNC job, as the spindle began to spin at the very start, I hear a pop from my PSU and some smoke came out. Review: Impressed by the build quality - Updated - it will cut aluminum - This is my first CNC router and I chose this over other models because it appeared to be more rigid than the average low cost CNC. I was quite impressed with the overall build quality, fit, and finish. The packaging was very good as well. I checked each and every bolt and all were properly tightened at the factory. Assembly was quick and easy - much easier than my 3D printer. It needed calibration on the steps/mm but that was expected. I have a lot to learn but had my first carve project up and running in no time. I have not tried cutting aluminum yet but my guess is that it will do fine as long as I use the right bit and take it slow. Update - I can attest that if you get your feeds and speeds right you can mill aluminum quite nicely with this machine. I tested it using 60 degree v bit which worked fine and then I made a little test design in Fusion 360 to cut a curved slot, some counterbored holes, and the edges of the part using a 1/8" single fluted flat end mill. The image shows the result in 10mm thick aluminum. This took about an hour 15 minutes to finish in the mill. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ the speed of decay starts quickly, and machine and circuitry go fast to junk ! *by W***E on September 5, 2023* at first the machine was running as expected, but soon started being loud, vibrations and loose screws.
