Glimmer of Hope: An Urban Fantasy Novel (The Other Realm Book 2)

Second of series,I love the first book and was excited to ead the second but I am afraid that will be the last for me. I love a good romance with ups and lows , misunderstandings, a bit of drama and I thought Jinx and Stone were going to offer that. But the author decided to introduce a new romance with a different character that basically does nothing for me. They get on really well, there is no drama they kissed and are already a couple in one book( sorry for spoliers but I would like to warn people in case they were expecting somthing different) . Because of this I have little motivation to read the rest of the series as the romance part is all done and dusted . If romance is not a big part of what readers like , I think they will enjoy the book and series. Sadly I am not one of them.

So what I thought was slow burn romance in book 1 got complicated in this second book, and (for good reasons) Stone was hardly in the story. Another of the great characters from book 1 has got the hots for Jinx so, and by the end of this book, there’s a definite love triangle emerging! Again, the romance is just a small part of the plot, we get to learn more about the Other, the way creatures and human magic users work in this universe, and Jinx learns more about her family and we get to know her small ‘pack’ of friends a bit more. Just like the first book, this one has its own full plot, and makes a rounded story on it’s own as well as filling in more of the series ‘arc’. I can’t wait for book 3.

Their chemistry is undeniable. And Jinx's new into the Other realm but she has already amassed enemies but manyunforseen allies / protectors.Love the Other realm. This book has that effect on you where you are submersed so irrevocably that you want to be in it, live it, breath it.Roll on book 3!

Really enjoying this series. I usually only read fantasy that has romance as the primary storyline, but this is fantasy, with a little romance as an extra. The writing is superb, so my preferences come second, that doesn't happen very often to me. Excellent author!

Dubious at first as bucks is my home county, but I love the author and the main character. She is funny and confident but not arrogant. I love how this series is going! More dragon please!

Sometimes I want a book that will take me a good few days to read, and sometimes I want one that doesn't, even though this one is of the latter, that doesn't take away from the brilliant read that it is.

What an ending! This was great fun! I love that she's not really looked back at Stone. INhope she doesn't. I have a horrible feeling she might though. Gotta read the next one and find out.

So many bad people in this world. Jinx has to work out who, pretty fast or she will be on the dead list. So many things are not what they appear to be and along comes Emory. Interested to see where that leads.
