The larger size works great, when using the inside smaller size is just okay. It needs to be set deeper on inside to grip better.

I first bough a pair of those "filter pliers" and I royally intercoursed my filter. That was my first and last time doing that. Looked up the oil filter size, bought the corresponding "end-cap" style and it works great. It's also great for being compatible with a torque wrench

Yeah, thought this was the correct size for a 2017 KIA (not my car, somebody else's). I found out that it does not fit the filter. The KIA uses those older style metal cannister filters (not the "built in" ones you see on some newer German cars, for ex). I got a great deal on some made in Austria Mahle filters and the cannister sizing must be different than maybe the OEM KIA factory brand oil filters. Honestly, I don't know if it would fit either as I've never tested it on a factory filter, but I know it does NOT fit the Mahle filter.Gotta love Amazon though, they refunded my money and didn't even require me to bother returning it. I ended up finding an old (believe the brand is "Ameripro") 6 in 1 wrench made of high quality plastic that actually fits a whole bunch of different filters. It's old, and it was patented at the time - but it fits the Mahle filter for the KIA, so, I ended up just grabbing that and now don't need any filter adapters.

Sure makes changing oil filters easy and quick. Own several sizes now.

The oil filter socket worked well on my Yamaha Vmax. Really nice if your filter is in a tight spot or close to your exhaust. Or if your backward like me it's nice to have a ratchet set to be sure you're turning it the right way. lifetime warranty on a solid tool. I'd recommend it %100
