Thunderbolt history written well.!.!
Just received book yesterday, read most of it today. I purchased from my mom, my dads 1964 289 Fairlane 500. Needless to say this book is awesome. I have a love for the car cause of my dad, but now knowing history I’m so much more excited about it. Thank you for thunderbolt history.

THIS IS A GREAT BOOK FOR FANS OF DRAG RACING OF THAT ERA
AS A DRAG RACER FROM THE 1960s AND 70s, I FOLLOWED DICK BRANNON'S FEATS AS AFORD RACER. AT THAT TIME WE ONLY HAD PUBLICATIONS, SO TIMELY INFO WAS LACKING. THIS BOOK WAS A RETURN TO THE TIME OF FACTORY PERFORMANCE CARS. BRANNONWAS MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN I KNEW. THIS IS A GREAT BOOK FOR FANS OF DRAG RACING OF THAT ERA, THE HISTORY OF THE T-BOLT AND FORD'S HIGH PERFORMANCE FACTORY CARS.

Would have been nice to see some color pictures
Really covers the subject. Would have been nice to see some color pictures. I was kind of disappointed in the overall coverage however, feeling as if I had read or seen most of this material in different magazines at one time or another by various authors. As a first time reader anyone will still find much information on a great car run by a real Drag racing hero.

It's all good.
To be honest I am just glad somebody had the wisdom to take pictures and record information from this historic period in drag racing. I think I detected a slightly different perspective on what happened back in the day in the book "The Tasca Ford Legacy" , but if it's a big block 427 Ford engine stuffed into a small Ford Fairlane it's all good.

Enjoyable reading, brought back lots of memories.
Being a fan of Ford Thunderbolts in my youth and seeing them live at Beeline and Lyons I really enjoyed this book. It has lots of information and great stories. I highly recommend for anyone who was a Thunderbolt fan.

Good reading on the thunderbolt story
Good reading on the thunderbolt story, but no colour pictures in the book at all. I have his book "Total Performers, Ford drag racing in the 60's", and the quality of that book is leaps and bounds ahead of this one, with lots of colour pics, and b&w also. There could have been a lot more higher quality pictures put into the thunderbolt book , and sadly there was not. Most of them look like they were done with a cheap photocopy machine. Save your money, unless you are building a Thunderbolt clone , or restoring an original.
