Sierra International 56973P, Pitot, 30-80 mph Speedometers

Speedometer went out on my Yamaha LS2000. Looked for a replacement underwater thingy since mine looked a little discolored and rough. Super easy to install and fixed the speedometer.I would but one of these again if I needed to.To install, remove old (I'll call it a sending unit) SU and clean hull surface. Unhook tube from speedo in dashboard and blow through tube to remove any blockages. Reinstall tube onto speedo.Use adhesive caulking rated for underwater and install the screws to mount new SU.Hook the tube onto the new SU.Easy to do.

Very easy to install. I replaced the broken one on my 16ft Carolina Skiff with this one. The holes from the old one matched up, so it took all of 5 minutes to replace it.I didn't rate the accuracy because I haven't had a chance to see if it works. The boat was put away for the colder months so I will have to wait until Spring to try it out.

It is not "spring loaded", to bounce back if you hit a log. It does rotate ... sort of ... in that it has a pivot point, but is a very tight fit of a square plastic rotating part against a flat surface. I can rotate it back by hand with a great amount of pressure. However, a quick strike against a log, or in my case a floating dock platform, will likely snap it off (speaking as an engineer ... but I have yet to test this theory).The other thing to consider is these holes do not match up to my old ones. Rather than drill a new hole in my boat, I am hoping that 2 screws will hold it. It does NOT come with screws either.The good news is, at $5, who cares?

Product was a universal fit and fit perfectly in the factory holes on my 84 bayliner carpi. Product is crisp white and fits my factory rubber hose. Would recommend to anyone that needs a new speedometer that is universal

It is what it is. Definately universal, allows replacement of different styles without drilling new holes. Required port speedo recal, to match readings on starboard speedo, possibly due to different pressures generated by different designs. The error curve is slightly different, but pitot speedos are not gps, water speed is much less accurate than fixed surface, and less critical. Spend much more money if original accuracy is a concern, buy this if you are practical and understand everything has its limitations. I may order another for the starboard side, just so they're exactly inaccurate together. Not as pretty as my originals, but impossible to see in the water, and 2 cost less that 1/4 of one original.

I used this product to replace the old one from the same manufacturer. Unfortunately the meter is not reading my speed. Maybe there is another problem.
