Used for high amp draw flex-a-lite fans
I replaced my all weather ATC style fuse holder because it could not handle the amp draw for my dual flex-a-lite fan set up. It kept melting when I would use 2 fans for my a/c system. I was thinking about just replacing my all weather ATC fuse because I had a bunch of extras. I compared the resistance of the old one with the melted fuse thinking there was possibly a faulty contact. However, my old and new fuse holders displayed the same exact resistance of .02-.03 ohms. I didn't want to waste time and possibly run into the problem again in the future. I did some research and came across this fuse block holder.I decided to do some testing before I pulled out the old slightly melted fuse holder. I installed a new 30a fuse to check resistance. While I did not know what the specs were for my e-fans, I recorded 1 fan on at 4,300 ohms and 12,000 ohms with both fans on.My new readings with this fuse block holder were 4,300 ohms with 1 fan and 6,400 ohms with both fans! I did not replace parts nor did I change ground contacts. I wanted to see if this fuse block would make a difference by itself. Definitely a dramatic improvement. I called flex-a-lite to confirm if my fans were in spec, but they did not have that information, they only gave me a total amp draw of 19.5 amps. At least I had a baseline and some numbers to compare the old ATC fuse holder with this new Maxi fuse block! Based upon my numbers, I am pretty confident that a 50% reduction of resistance should solve my problem of melting issues.I have not been able to drive my car for testing, but the initial installation does look promising. The high temperature plastic and overall build quality seems like this fuse holder will be very durable and last a long time. The metal contacts have a lot of surface area that could essentially pull away heat while also maintaining positive contact for low resistance. I will probably update this review at the end of the summer when I have had a chance to really use my a/c.

Well designed
Used this fuse block and a Blue Sea 30 A MAXI fuse for an RV solar application. The block itself is solidly constructed allowing it to be securely mounted with recessed screw points. The fuse, with much larger blades than an ATO-style fuse, fits snugly in the gap in the conducting plates. When the wires are secured to the block, the fuse blades are tightly clamped, ensuring good electrical conductivity. Tip: remove the oxide on the fuse blades with fine steel wool and coat with NO-OX or similar electrical contact substance to inhibit oxidation to ensure best electrical connection.

Great Product
Works great. Remember it doesn't come with a fuse. It is easy to install. I use this with the Blue Sea breaker box I have.

Best MAXI Fuse holder I've Found Yet
A simple, effective, easy-to-use design. The cover pops off for easy access. Wires can run through the bottom or the sides. I used 6 awg wire and that barely fit through the sides. Better to go through the bottom with 6 awg or bigger. I used ring terminals on my wires so they don't fall off when loosening the screws to change the fuse. All it takes is a quarter turn or so on both screws to be easily take out the MAXI fuse. I prefer this design because I don't know what quality of wire I'm getting with the other design that comes with the wires. This way I know ALL the wire is marine rated and can withstand moisture and vibration. I am 100% off grid using solar and need the best connections possible for the relatively small amount of electricity I get from solar panels. These are expensive for what they are, but if you need the best, this might be it; Blue Sea makes great stuff.

Used for a Windstar from mechanical fan upgrade
I replaced my mechanical fan with a Windstar double fan setup. My fans were drawing around 24 amps each on full power. The Bosch style relay and 30a ATC fuses overheated and popped. After some research, I learned what Ford uses on the factory installation. 40a fuse with a heavier duty relay. The aftermarket fuse box I was using could not handle the startup instantaneous power draw and continuous operation of the two fans.I went with this (along with larger relays) and I have no heat issues. The larger contact area for the fuse allows for the power draw.As another reviewer stated (I learned after the fact) the fuse is secured by the screw terminals. I tested the holder before mounting. The fuse was secure, but the screw terminals were still lose. I could not get the fuse seated after my wiring was done and terminals secured. This screw securement may be an issue with the location I mounted the holders, but if everything is operating as is should, I shouldn’t have to replace the fuses very often, if ever. Dirt and debris will not get into the fuse blade area with as tight as this fuse fits once the screws are tightened. For an off-road truck, very beneficial.I’m running two independent fans for peace of mind. Each fan has its own thermostat switch and power source. I can easily combine the thermostat switches in the field if one fails and having two circuits provides partial operation if one fan motor or circuit dies while off-roaring.Right now - 5 stars. Time will tell. This will be updated if anything changes.

Just a rebadged Eaton Bussmann HHX?
It is decent, but not the quality I expect from Blue Sea Systems. As another reviewer noted, the wire is not tinned. I suspect it is just a Eaton Bussmann HHX with a few pieces of heat shrink, and a big markup. If I hadn't been in a rush I would have done that research before hand, and ordered the HHX.

This is great. I needed to have a single 80 amp fuse for my fuel injection system and this works perfectly. Holds a single 80 amp MAXI fuse available at any parts store and mounts cleanly to the car. Perfect elegant solution.
