Q: How do you keep someone from entering through the window with the sash below? Is there a lock that comes with the kit to keep the window secure?

I’m thinking there will be no window raising , only cursing and running ; after my 70 lb pit bull busts out of that flap .

Q: What is the required width of the track--or slot--the unit fits into? Ours is only 1/2" and I've seen some that require 7/8"

No answer, but rather having the same problem that our window track/slot is just 1/2" resulting in a follow-up question. Any product recommendation that fits 1/2" track/slot windows? Would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Q: (1) Where do I measure to order the correct size? (2) There are two flap sizes. How do I know which one I'll get?

There is only one flap size. The measurement are for the width of the window I have three cats. One weighs 22 lbs. and one weighs about 6 lbs.They both use the same entrance.

Q: Will a 40lb dog fit thru it, or will it be to big? Trying to figure out what size I need to get. X-tra large seems to be too big.

My 40lb dog fit through it comfortably while my 55lb dog could barely squeeze through. I'd say it depends more on the dog's height then their weight as it's a fairly short opening.
