Q: Is this a pressure gate or does it have to be screwed into the doorway with hardware?

This is the cheapest thing I have ever purchased on Amazon. It broke the second day we had it. I have an 8 lb dog and a 10 lb dog and when one of them jumped up on it...it fell over, 2 of the pegs broke in half - and it just got worse after that. We tried duct taping it but more and more pegs kept breaking. The gate lasted 6 days in my house and I threw it away. The gate weighs NO MORE then 5 lbs. It's poorly made I would NOT waste the money on in. Buy something a little more pricey and better built!! I think if you screwed it into the wall the side pieces would split just by putting screws into them. Hope this helps.

Q: Does this gate hinge into a wall or door? Or is it free standing?

Free standing. That is one of the problems. I had to screw in hooks to the gates and eyes into the wall to attach them to.

Q: What is the depth of the gate and will it stand up on it's on?

It fits a normal doorway and it will stand on its own if it is slightly bent on each section.

Q: What keeps the gate from falling over if the dog pushes or jumps on it?

nothing my 80 pound golden adult respects the gate and it stops her my doxie pup (10 pounds) pushes on the gate and breaks out the spokes lol
