Don’t buy. This is a terrible product. Design is simply printed on faux leather, not embossed. Spine doesn’t even have ribs. Colour of the print is also very light, doesn’t look real at all, not even from a distance.

I had to write a review for this because I truly think people wrote bad things ( to be the only with such a masterpiece) I can say I myself usually read reviews to make my decision an this case I’m glad I went with my instincts everything said about these boxes are wrong 1. They do have a magnet tap in the inside that closes tightly 2. Boxes had no scent other than the smell of wood 3. Craftsmanship is far beyond any expectation 4. The size on all three are larger than expected 5. The vibrancy of color is exceptional !!! after this purchase I will no longer trust the reviews an look forward to see what I get ( to every one that has these breath taking item cherish the blessing) an if you are considering ( trust yourself) enjoy ( I literally gasped when I opened these they are truly that beautiful ( I’m thankful to have a life to enjoy them )

The actual product looks nice, feels fairly sturdy etc. My gripe is that when these book boxes arrived they absolutely reeked of pot. Look, I get that there’s definitely a middle segment in the Venn diagram between “People who want a box that is disguised as something other than a box” and “People looking for a place to hide their paraphernalia” but I bought these to use as a keepsake/music box and now I’m afraid to put anything in there because I don’t want my personal belongings to take on the aroma of the box. I assumed it would dissipate with time but I’ve left them open for several weeks to air out and, nope, every time I walk by them I still get a real strong whiff of pot.As long as you’re buying them for the express purpose of hiding your stash, I suppose that’s fine, but you’re not going to be fooling anybody that gets close enough to smell it.

This product is sturdy, well built, and a decent enough value. However, the back of the box is just an exposed hinge and flat box (I was expecting the book shape/pages to continue). The finish is not as I perceived in the photos and is a stark metallic finish. Overall, this is not the “blend in faux books” I wanted, and it did not match my home’s aesthetic. BUT, it arrived on time, was well packaged, not damaged, and is still a functioning product true to size listed. I won’t return online orders simply for my own hastiness in purchasing.

The books arrived on time and I great condition, as advertised. However, the stink. They literally smell so bad, I started getting a headache and had to take them to another room. I’m considering spraying a coat of polyurethaning on them to try to seal the smell in if airing them out doesn’t work. The smell makes them a bit less giftable and a little less worth the money. I would have spent a little more for a product that doesn’t smell toxic. Otherwise, they look great and blend in with my older collection of books, which is what I was hoping for.Update: I got up this morning and walked into the study. The whole room smelled like those boxes. I literally took the boxes to the sink and washed them with a lot of dish soap and water, inside and out. That only helped a little. After they dried, I spent the rest of the day costing them with polyurethane, inside and out. That helped a lot more. Right now, each box has a healthy heaping of strong potpourri and the boxes are tied shut. My goodness, I don’t know what was used to glue that liner inside of each box, but it is disgustingly strong.
