FANTASTIC insulation!!
I bought these primarily for the left glove. I use my left hand to support and steady my right hand. As a result, my left hand spends more time close to the heat than my right. Well, as you can see from the picture, a spray-MIG project got REALLY hot. It was so hot that it dried out the leather and set the logo on fire... which caught the dried out leather on fire. The beauty of it is that I never felt the fire!! The insulation was incredible! I calmly put out the fire, discarded the glove, and ordered a new pair. If you’re doing any welding (not TIG) that requires a support hand being close to the heat, I would HIGHLY recommend these gloves.

Quite a good glove for the price we paid.
I was pleasantly surprised how protective the Gloves ended up being considering the price that we paid.So many times Gloves claim to protect against heat when performing Welding activities. And so many times the Gloves are way to thin. I wouldn't even use them to take a casserole out of the oven. And that's not nearly as hot as what Welders have to deal with. Our point is we would highly recommend these Gloves for Welding activities.

Awesome glove, great for GTAW/Tig. I want to give them 4stars so badly as they are very circumstantial. If not taken care of, these gloves are 4star. Baby them, have a rotation glove for your heavy-duty work then put these on before the hood drops. I don’t recommend for high-spatter welding WITHOUT a cover jacket. If you can keep clean and burn-free, depending on the job, (hint hint Tig or non-spatter), then they’re one of my most favorite welding gearhead additions. Excellect dexterity and insulation combo. A tshirt and these with a bent elbow will result in very minimal/no skin burn or spatter burns.

The best gloves for indirect heat (TIG welding)
Around the thumbs gets pretty worn from holding TIG rods, For that, put a "glove medic 20 1911" leather finger sleeve patch. Comfortable, great for indirect heat, great insulation and dexterity. In the picture is a new one VS a crispy one that endured 2 years of mixed welding work (Spray arc, TIG, stick including overhead)

No good for direct heat
The sleeve length was great for protecting us from fireplace burns but the gloves couldn’t handle the heat of a standard fireplace and melted so that the fingers no longer open to allow a wide grip.
