Works surprisingly well with old and new devices. I get about 600 mbps from Wifi 5 notebooks about 30ft away, through 2 walls and a ceiling. For Wifi 6 devices like iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max, I get 750-800 mbps 15 feet away, and about 400-550 mbps 30ft away, on a different floor. Signals for 2.4 Ghz devices like floodlights and camera are also fairly strong, and has no problem streaming 1440p videos from cameras mount above the garage at the back (thru 30ft and 2 walls) and the camera above the front door (40ft away). Connections have been very stable, and easily handles over 25 devices without a problem. I tried a few other Wifi 6 (Asus XT9, RT-AX5400), 6E (TP-Link AXE75, AXE7800) and even 7 (TP-Link Deco BE11000) routers that cost more, some with external antennas, and this is the fastest among them for 5Ghz devices. Overall a compact but powerful router and good value for money, if you have a wired backhaul.

Asus motto, "Delivering the Incredible". incredible /ĭn-krĕd′ə-bəl/ adjective So implausible as to elicit disbelief; unbelievable. I wish I had known that they meant Incredibly bad customer service. 10 days after I was told that they were sending a replacement, nothing was sent, so I called again. Time spent to date trying to resolve this 2:48 minutes. Bought this to add to the two ET8 units I have (which have worked without a problem). This unit goes off line frequently. Also, it will not work with the Ethernet network at the house for the backhaul. I bought this to connect to our security cameras, so reliability is paramount. Asus warranty will only cover a repair to the unit. After 2 hours of troubleshooting and negotiation, they agreed to send a replacement unit IF AND WHEN THEY HAVE ONE IN STOCK after I pay a "holding fee" of $249, refundable when I return the defective unit. The unit is currently listed on Amazon for $91. I don't have a problem with the fee, but they have no idea when they will have a replacement unit in stock. Should they get a replacement unit, they will give a ONE call. If I don't answer that call, they will send an email.

I have a two node ZenWiFi XT12 Pro mesh network setup but the upstairs corner was a little spotty. Added this node and placed it upstairs now we have a constant 400 megabit connection. So easy to add via the ASUS app. Placed it by the main node during setup the. Placed it where I needed it. Took 8 min total. If you need an extra node (it doesn’t have to match the other nodes in terms of model as long as it’s a part of the ASUS ZenWiFi family)

Our son redid our wireless internet in our house and this is what he chose for us. He researched and felt this would work the best. It is working better than our last one.

After two years with a 3 node set-up, I am very frustrated after fixing a number of network crashes and satellite disconnects. I run all three units from our home's ethernet Cat5e network which is connected to an AT&T 1Gbps Fiber Gateway run in peer through mode- so I am not using wireless backhaul mesh at all, it's 100% wired 1G ethernet, and it crashes too often. The process for getting a satellite re-connected is lengthy and requires multiple reboots. The manuals and app don't explain troubleshooting steps very well. I am throwing this stuff away and getting an Eero 6+ system.
