First time I have been disappointed with Jabra
Don't get me wrong, 3 stars are still okay, but having owned 3 different types of Jabra products in the past (two sets of wireless earbuds, and one headset) this Jabra Engage 50 On-Ear Mono Headset is pretty disappointing.Okay, first the positives, it looks good, but style over substance never wins for me. I like the little label for your name so that if you work in an open-plan office (which I do) or in a call centre, you know which is your headset and not your colleagues. Sound quality as you would expect with Jabra is exceptional. However, this is sadly where I depart from the positive review. For me, and my rather large (64cm circumference) head, I just couldn't get everything aligned just how I wanted. I found the cup on the earphone comfortable in that it was soft, but it slid around a bit too much as the headband bit for me wasn't big enough even when on maximum setting, this then affected the mic positioning. I've never used a mono-headset, and I am not sure if I was missing something here, but for over £100, I would expect a better design that can accommodate a whole range of different head shapes and sizes. I have a Jabra Evolve 20 Stereo Headset which cost less than £40, and I am much happier with that. I suspect if you have a smaller head to me, then these Jabra Engage may well work for you, but I would air caution on purchasing these at full price because the sound quality was great, but just not comfortable enough to wear.

Decent headset but a bit overpriced considering the issues I noticed
I have been using a Jabra Evolve 65 headset provided my company during the work from home period due to the lockdown. Recently, the headset developed an issue which meant I was looking for a replacement and when this popped up on Amazon, I thought I would grab this because I think I really liked the last Jabra headset.I have used this for a few weeks now and I feel that there are quite a few issues with this headset compared to my previous ones. Jabra Evolve headset came in very nice packaging but these were just packaged in a plain brown box which showed that this this is one of their much lower end headsets.First of all, I originally had the stereo version of the Jabra evolve which covered both the ears but this time I got a mono version. It comes with the wire already attached and you can directly plug it into your pc. It comes with a USB c cable which was a bit of a pain as my work laptop has only one USB C port which I use for charging as well so I cant charge the laptop and use the mic at the same time. This was the 2nd blow.In terms of the comfort, I am not really a big fan of on-ear headphones but this one is actually quite comfortable. It might be even more comfortable to use than my previous ones. I don't usually like this type of design as they're very easy to break but after using it for a few weeks, I can see that they are good quality and should last a long time.As soon as you plug in the headset, it lights up which shows that it is use. It shows a green colour which indicates that it can be used. I beleive it changes to Red when the call is connected or you are on mute. I did a mic test and the sound being recorded in the recorder sounded loud enough and clear as well.It has built in noise cancellation for calls which I was not able to test as I am in an already quiet room but I have seen it working quite well in Jabra headsets before so I dont see a big issue here. After using it for a few weeks, it has been decent in terms of call quality and I haven't heard any complains from the other parties on the call. Apart from the calls, I have used it to watch a couple of videos online as well as listen to songs and these are not actually built for that purpose but they sound okay. They dont have a lot of bass so are more suited for teleconferences and call centre type of jobs.Overall, I am not overly impressed by these. There are couple of major flaws which might be enough to put some people off. For now, I am persevering with these and will update the review if anything changes. 3 Stars

Mono Jabra headset - Good quality sound
I have to update my review to 5 stars after using it for a while now. The sound quality is just outstanding. Other than using for office work, listening to music is a good experience with deep Bass. Previously, I did not listen to music as I was only using it to test these headphones in the office work only.Jabra is a well known Brand for their Bluetooth ear devices. This Jabra Engage 50 mono headset is really nice. It arrived well packed, and also has a soft pouch to carry it around. That is useful to keep the headset safe & secure. The connection is Type C. Most of the laptops have this port to connect or you can also get an accessory, if you need (not included in this package). The sound & microphone quality is great, as it is designed for this purpose. I did try to connect it to my Samsung phone to see if it works. Surprisingly, it does work but the voice volume was too low. And also, the lights on headsets turn ons when connected, which means it may drain your phone battery. So, better to use it with Laptop or Desktop computers onlySoft ear foam makes it comfortable to wear for long hours. Foam is not too large, just stays on the ears. Mono style helps to know what's going around.I use it for listening to online tutorials and stuff. It's a nice headset for work and for personal use. Peace of mind is that it comes with a 3 years warranty.Could be improved:1: The head rest part should be better. without foam or any other padding makes it look cheap.2: It's too expensive.Even though price wise these are expensive headphones, I would still rate these high because they're comfortable to wear for long hours. The sound quality is good.

Doesn't really do anything special.
Don't get me wrong, this is a very well made headset that would be excellent for call centres, but for consumers like me, this headset just isn't worth the price (£126 right now on amazon/£192 rrp).I own another Jabra headset, the Evolve2 65 Wireless and it is decent, but also suffers the overpriced issue.Let's start off with the build quality, as always, it's very well made and feels durable, it's built of high quality plastic and aluminium. The box it comes in is meh, clearly designed to be sent off in bulk and immediately given to employees, fancy presentation is not neccessary for this kind of product so I will let Jabra slide there, I will point out that my Evolve2 65 came in a much nicer box though. As you can hear in the video, the mic quality is awful and does a good job at blocking out background noise... while also suppressing your own voice, not great, but in a busy call centre, this would probably be better than having a ton of background noise so I will give them credit there.I cannot test the Microsoft Teams features but I've heard Jabra are one of the best choices for that kind of usage. The cable is too short, it's only about a metre long, While I was wearing it to test it I had to lean forwards so the wire wouldn't pull my computer off the table, A USB-A to USB-C adaptor would have been greatly appreciated since my computer only has USB-C on the back.I am glad they did go for USB-C though, it is helping push the switch to USB-C for the future, but while most computers still primarily use USB-A and many don't even have USB-C, an adaptor is neccessary, especially when you are trying to sell this for £192.The comfort is nice, I was surprised with how comfy the headset is, it isn't too heavy so it doesn't make your head feel unbalanced and the headband doesn't press on you too much.Honestly I wouldn't recommend it for a consumer, there's many better options for a much cheaper price, but in a call centre I would definitely say this is a quality product that will last a lot of daily use. Thanks for reading my review!

Designed for all-day professional use, great quality but beware pricey extras
This is a high quality mono headset in Jabra’s contact centre range, though it is fine for individuals if you want what it offers: a headset you can wear all day, optimised for communications. Why mono? Mainly because you are not cut off from the outside world, ideal if you want to hear what is going on in the office (or if working alone, things like the doorbell ringing) but still get high quality voice calls and conferencing. Personally I also find it slightly more comfortable than a stereo headset. The downside is that you have to concentrate just a bit harder to focus on the call. Sound quality is excellent both incoming and outgoing. There is not much in the box, just the headset, a storage pouch, and a skimpy leaflet mostly stating the obvious: plug it in and move the microphone boom in front of your mouth – though there is a handy tip about having the boom around ½" or 12mm distance from your mouth. I recommend installing the Jabra Direct software (see illustration) which includes settings, support information, and firmware updates (my headset updated itself via Java Direct as soon as I plugged it in).The headset includes an LED on the outside of the earcup which glows red when you are in a call, green when you are not. Handy for people who want to know if they can interrupt you.Be aware that this model has a USB C connector and you will need an adaptor for USB A. It also lacks any buttons for things like mute or answer/end call. For that you will need the Jabra control unit, a pricey extra. It is not essential though since all these functions are on-screen. Works well with Zoom and with Microsoft Teams. I used it for dictation into Microsoft Word again with very good results.
