After two rooms 5G signal becomes very weak and then wifi speed >5mbps. For better coverage, placement will be good at a central point in house. Set up is very easy using Mi WiFi app.

First off, it is possible to install OpenWRT firmware on this router. I have already done so on one of the two I bought and it runs great. Great option if you want advanced features like VLANs (or maybe if you are paranoid about firmware from China!).Stock firmware itself is based on OpenWRT, but heavily customized.Pros:- Looks sleek.- Stock firmware is very user friendly.- Excellent value for money in the ₹999-1499 range. Previous price used to be 2199 like other brands.- 16MB flash, 128MB RAM.Cons:- Only two LAN ports.- Stock firmware interface is too simplistic and lacks advanced features.- Flashing OpenWRT involves an exploit since Xiaomi offers no straightforward way. Probably not for the faint of heart.

Fantastic router by Mi.We can use it to effectively boost wifi signal when we are in a large house (or small office). When I directly connect, I was getting 70-90mbps speed but with the router in my room, as you see in screenshot I get 200mbps.I use Jio fiber 300mbps plan. Also it is very useful if you want to connect with ethernet cable in same room. If you are using any vpn, you can configure the router to connect to the vpn so you can use it directly for your devices instead of being dependent on a dedicated app. Worth it - 5 star is too less.
