Q: my xbox one model number is 1540 will this disc drive work for it?

The best way is to remove the disc drive and get same model replacement of drive so you can swap the chip. I've seem complaints of people getting locked out of xbox live with blank chips or wrong security code you can clone the chip but you need another computer and software is very easy to swap the chip only a few screws.

Try swapping the board from the old drive onto the new one.
