Fantastic model kit of a classic beauty!
Other than a couple minor, well-documented quibbles (such as the shuttlebay hangar piece being slightly too large to fit inside the secondary hull), the kit is FANTASTIC. I built one several years ago with the "anniversary" edition and am looking forward to building another, now the updated kit that includes options for all three versions (pilot, second pilot, and production). This one's a fun build with an impressive final result one can really be proud of. :)

Great model!!
This model is great. Good detail and easy to assemble. I got the lighting kit as well so I’m still building. One small issue (not enough to drop a star but worth mentioning) the base is supposed to have a hole for the light switch (per the instructions) but it’s not there. It shouldn’t be a real problem as I can just drill a proper diameter hole and drop the switch right in. A must have for any model building Star Trek fan.

Fantastic model; arrived in perfect condition too.
It has lots of parts and doesn't look like a beginner's project, but some parts are made to expedite assembly. For example, the windows are already cut out, and the clear parts are engineered to fit onto several windows at once.

It’s not bad, but….
Being rather new at building Star Trek related models, I’ve learned a LOT after this experience! First, after chatting with other modelers I learned that this “Pilot” set has had different releases and some are a bit different. For instance, my saucer deck has no ridges down the saucer top when theirs did. I’ve also learned after dry fitting the shuttle that it doesn’t fit correctly; after researching this, the issue seems to have plagued most every model coming out. Watching many build videos on YouTube, almost every video modeler complained about this. I also wanted to warn other newbies the following: • SHOP AROUND AND CHECK PRICES! I’ve seen this kit at a lesser charge other places. • If you’ve haven’t built a model, say…. 🤔 since Moses was a sophomore in high school- you may want to either snag a 1/1200 scale kit or smaller. This is a behemoth, and is about 3 three feet long when finished. • I knew going in that this was only ONE ship, but others have thought that there are THREE. No such animal! It’s great having three options, but I’ve chosen the Production Version; I’m including lights and other bells and whistles, too • Speaking of lights…. There is two ways to go. Get the kit that is ungodly expensive (as I did 🙄🥴) or— if you’re used to buiding the big models and experienced, you’ll know what to do. • Lastly, this is NOT the Polar Lights USS ENTERPRISE 1/350, aka the NCC-1791-A!! That’s a different one. Like an idiot, I’ve purchased the bridge and shuttle bay resin upgrade and photoetching. I’m going to try and do my own partial refit, and maybe make it a tad nicer. Good luck! Research your purchase for not only $$$, but for the size and version YOU want. God bless- Doc Lykins Virginia

The Ship that started a phenomenon.
The 1:350 scale kits are the best just shy of the original film production versions. This is a great kit and with the all the after market accessories that you can get, you can really make this kit into a museum piece.

Disappointing quality for the price
Overpriced. This is an expensive large model. The quality is disappointing for the price. Detailing and instructions are lame. Relies heavily on builder's experience to construct a quality finished model.

Fairly easy and straightforward build.
Mine was the older version but is basically the same model. Very sturdy build! Pieces fit perfect with very little flash or seams. I had bought the original lighting kit. I understand it's upgraded now. This model was engineered with lighting in mind with mounting points and everything. THIS KIT DOES NOT INCLUDE OR COME WITH LIGHTS. I am going to get this kit and build the mirror universe enterprise. All in all this is a great kit and at just under 3ft long is huge in size. Alot of the parts were molded in color so if paint is not you'r thing you will still have a very nice model. THIS IS NOT A SNAP FIT MODEL YOU WILL NEED PROPER MODELING GLUE. All in all a very worthwhile build. Edit: Apparently this kit is no longer molded in color. And ALL the windows are clear. The pilot pack is nice however I would be remiss to say I'm a little disappointed in the fact that they no longer mold it in color and you no longer have the window options for clear, white and black. Also I'd rather have the clear parts to light the shuttlebay , rear fantail and warp nacelles. For what they charge they should be included! I should not be strong armed into buying an inferior lighting kit just to get parts that should come with a 150 dollar model. Love the ship and I look forward to the build but the whole ala cart thing is gonna bite them in the butt. I wish I had saved the white windows from my last kit.
