Simply Divine
Since I was a kid, I loved Pentel products; remember the original Quicker Clicker with green eraser? Then in business school (around 2005), I bought a 3-pack of Pentel Client pens. Those pens are awesome, heavy metal barrel, parker refills, actual chrome to show off to business clients, etc. In recent times, my writing style has changed. The Client had a rubber grip, and it was for a time when I gripped the pen tightly, making very precise marks and doing the penmanship version of annunciation. Through the years, having to sign countless documents, my writing evolved from tight precision to quick jots, lightly holding the pen and barely applying pressure to paper. I've come to love smooth ink and a slender grip. I tried Mont Blanc, Parker, Cross, Pilot, Zebra, etc, etc. Nothing I tried fit my hand well. Either the grip was too fat or too hard, making prolonged writing painful.Pentel Libretto seemed to have the nice slender grip and chrome accents. I took a gamble and bought it without holding it in hand first. I am glad I did. The chrome is real, and the pen is lacquer coated; I got the black one. There is weight in the pen, so you get a sense of quality. There is weight in the cap, so be sure to cap the backside of the pen to get the optimal weight balance for writing. The Pentel LR7 ink was OK but not impressive, so I put in Jetstream RT ink. With the Jetstream ink, the pen woke up; writing with the pen feels like "gliding on clouds." Divine is the best word I can come up with to describe the experience. It's like driving a Corolla all your life and finally getting behind the wheel of a Porsche. It is sleek, sexy, refined, and the performance is exceptional. I love this pen!

Elegant and balanced
I now own three of these pen/pencil sets and I really love the feel they have in the hand. The metal construction of the pen body is weighty and balanced. They also look a treat, much more elegant than the Energel Style.

Nice smooth pen and pencil, in a cheap case
I don't have the greatest handwriting, but it writes okay from what I can tell. It's easier and bleeds less through then some Uniball Visions I've used before. The pencil tip retracts in protect the tip better and keep you from poking through your pocket. The case is a little of an afterthought, cheap and not finished well.I got this on sale for $20.40, for that price I'm happy with it.

strongest and smoothest I've found yet.
Had one for a while that I use for work. As a mechanic I have to write up a lot, and a shop isn't the friendliest of environments for pens. As a result I've gone through a ton of different pens and I'm a bit of a princess when it comes to what I'm using to write up work (which is why I'm willing to spend so much on a pen that feels just right). Recently I ran out of ink in mine, which took a good amount of time, and the pen is still in great shape. Despite being dropped, launched, covered in oil, and overall abused. It all wipes off the metal body with ease and still writes really smooth. Never would've thought I'd actually give a solid review to such an expensive pen, but here I am. In short the thing is a little beast and I love it.

The weight is nice when posted
I replaced the .7 head with .5 from a Pentel EnerGel-X bln105. The weight is nice when posted. All the weight is in the tip of the cap. So the pen feels heavier when posted due to leverage, but the pen itself is not heavy. Depending on how you hold the pen, the sharp metal edge might bug you. Overall I am overjoyed that I have a very nice looking body to the bln 105 ink cartridge. This also fits the unibal signio 105. Worth it at 25, kind of a stretch at 30. Looks amazing and feels like a quality pen when posted, otherwise it does not feel dense so it feels cheap. I am happy.I noticed some weird defect on the pencil; it looks like lacquer dripped/ran in one tiny spot, but the surface appears almost flush so you cant scratch off the extra lacquer. I think a drop fell on the pencil early, dried, then the body was completely lacquered permanently encasing the drop. I do not even use the pencil.

New Old Stock
I recently purchased three different Pentel pens which all come with the same type of ink refill cartridge. (The EnerGel Liquid Gel 0.7mm) which is available as a metal tip or a needle tip. I like the metal tip better.1-The Pentel EnerGel Pearl Deluxe RTX Retractable Liquid Gel Pen, 0.7mm, 4 Pack sells for $6.77 today.2-The Pentel EnerGel Style Gel Pen, (0.7mm) Medium Line sells for $16.80 today for one pen.3-Pentel Libretto Roller Gel Pen and Pencil Set with Gift Box, Pen 0.7mm and Pencil 0.5mm, Cream Barrelssells for $31.00 today for two (one pen, one pencil)As stated, all of these pens use the same interchangeable 0.7mm ink refill cartridge. The only difference is the weight and feel of the pen’s body. The cheaper version pen is a good utility writing instrument. The more expensive EnerGel Style Gel Pen is well worth the added cost to me for the heft and feel that makes the writing experience more pleasurable (this is my favorite among the three). And finally, the Libretto Roller Gel Pen is similar but is more elegant and has a heavier top.My only problem with these particular Libretto Roller Gel Pens sold by Amazon is that they are New Old Stock from 2015 and the ink cartridges show their age. I asked for a new replacement ink refill cartridge, but Amazon sent a full replacement set within three days. Unfortunately, that replacement also was of the same age (2015).If you buy this very nice Libretto set, consider buying a new ink cartridge for a couple bucks so it will write properly as a pen of this higher cost should. Refills come in a variety of color inks and either metal tip or needle tip. I recommend black ink and metal tip.

This is a great product, it writes smooth and looks fantastic. I look like a lawyer in suit with this set of pens in my pocket. I really recommend Pentel product to any one who loves writing.

It's good for the money.
Don't expect too much. Just good enough to justify the cost.
