Victoria's Ranger
Victoria’s Ranger is the first book in Amy Cummings series, the Lone Star Littles. As the first book in a series, Ms. Cummings not only introduces readers to two dynamic lead characters—Victoria Prine and Avery Walker. She also introduces a host of supporting characters. Victoria works as a bank teller, who gets caught up in an attempted robbery. She identifies one of the bank robbers as Chris, the guy who asked her out on two dates. Chris threatens her. Avery is a Texas Ranger working undercover. His actions foiled the robbery attempt. Chris escaped when he claimed to have planted a bomb in Victoria’s handbag. Subsequently, Victoria goes into witness protection with Avery as her protector. They hide in a DD/LG private, secluded community. Avery assumes the role of Marshal for the town. Victoria becomes his LG and tries to fit in to this new community. She worries if she will fit in. Can she? Will Avery keep her safe? Will he capture Chris? Will Avery and Victoria find happiness? To discover what happens, you must read this book.Ms. Cummings penned a simple but enjoyable romance plot. I loved how she enhanced it with suspense to increase the tension in her plot. I enjoyed how she incorporated two threads of tension. The first being the threat from Chris and his pursuit of Avery and Victoria. The second being the corrupt real estate mogul intent on driving the community members out for his personal gain. I also liked the way Ms. Cummings uses dialog, point of view, and descriptive language to captivate readers’ attention. Her characters, both primary and secondary, are well-crafted. She gives them unique personalities that make them relatable and likeable. Their antics and banter endear them to readers. Well done, Ms. Cummings.

A good read but Annoying errors .
I bought all 5 books in the series and I must say I enjoyed them. However the author doesn't seem to know the difference between Shaking the head and nodding the Head! There are constant references where a character "shakes" their head to acknowledge "Yes!" SHAKING the head means "NO!" NODDING the head means YES!! So annoying! Also in another of the books, an English male character using the word "LOVIE". No man in England of that particular character's status and education would EVER use the word "Lovie". "Darling" most likely would be the endearment used from a character such as was portrayed in the book. Lovie is an endearment also, it's true, but not one usually used by a man and it's not used throughout England in general. There are many colloquial endearments, and who would or would not use those words. No male executive or any man in a top job, would ever address a female as "Lovie" they just wouldn't! (I don't think a labourer would either! ). I do wish American writers would really do their homework on how we speak and spell in English in the UK. It makes us English folk cringe!

This was very nice and cute. I know it's not everyone's taste but I certainly liked it. Going to check more in the series and see how it goes.
