Over time, it also started losing charge more quickly and I had to charge more often so it wouldn't die during a walk (every 4 days before it stopped working but it used to be maybe about a week). I think that also helped the battery last longer. I love the rainbow mode especially and had to reorder. My pomchi often gets compliments during our night walks and the small size works great for her.

**Q: Does the rechargeable version work well? Or should I purchase the one that you have to replace the batteries in it?**
A: The small version of the rechargeable led light is terrible. I had two of them fail on me within a couple days. The batteries would not charge. It would light up while plugged in but that was it. The xl version has been great though. If that's too big, the replaceable battery ones have always worked well for me in the past. Just a pain to have to keep getting new batteries.

Handy to spot the dog when off lead in the dark. Also great for lead walking in the dark. The cycling colours are fun. Battery only really lasts 1 full walk (1 hour) and will need charging in order to get through the next walk. Happy overall
