Good product, still exploring it

Love, love, love this lens. It certainly was a big step up from the kit lens that came with the Nikon Z30 mirrorless.

The lens is very sharp on telephoto end. Some reviewers measure its telephoto MTF worse than the other lenses but this is not my experience. I'm comparing it with highly regraded Sony Zeiss 70-200mm F4 that costs 6x more and don't see any difference in resolution. If anything, the Nikon's resolution is better. Possibly, Nikon modified the lens recently which makes the old reviews irrelevant. Another advantage of this lens is an effective image stabilization. It has two modes - Normal and Sport, controlled form the camera. The Normal mode is extremely stable but does not allow fast panning. So, one can't follow birds in flight or fast moving cars, for example. The Sport mode allows panning but is somewhat less stable. For my use cases, I mostly use Sport mode and still get more effective stabilization than Sony-Zeiss 70-200 F4. All in all, the lens is very good and definitely worth every penny. My only wish is to have 1.5x extender to increase the telephoto reach to 300-400mm for the cases when I need it.
