Does not have a carbide tip, despite showing one in the images and stating in the product description it has one. Without a ceramic tip, it is useless for trying to break glass.Bait and switch, should be pulled from market place for false advertising.In the attached photos, you can see a read carbide tip (whitish color) versus this product (which just has a cheap aluminum cap)

I have 8 different tactical pens yet they all seem to be slightly flawed in one way or another -e.g. the inclusion/design of the cap usually make them awkward -too much work to unscrew the cap to use the pen, and/or the cap falls off easily when using the pen. Or the unit is too slippery if needed for self defense, or too heavy (which feels cool when writing, but is too heavy/distracting for everyday carry. That or the unit has the glass breaker adjacent to the pen which gets in the way of writing (Gerber). This unit is brilliant and has no such flaws. There is no cap -you just twist it to expose the pen. The unit is light but very rigid and the aggressive knurling makes it extremely easy to grip....oh, and did I mention that it's one of least expensive?

Beautiful pen - TSA definitely won't stop you for this! Very nice pen, looks great, writes wonderfully well! Great buy!

I like it! Writes well...comes with an additional refill...all in a nice box suitable for gift giving. Pen is robust with good serrations for grip. Twist to deploy writing end. Has an emergency glass breaking tip end....just in case. I haven't fought off any muggers, villains, bad guys or evil doers yet (& I hope I never will.) but...I'm ready. Bought this for my EDC pack. A great value!

Good Price. Solid, secure, writes well, and appears to be able to break glass and inflict pain if necessary. I've only used it as a pen and hope never to need it for any other purpose but it's nice to have options. I hope to never find out if it's worth 5 stars.

Huge and unwieldy. It is the girth of a classic Sharpie. Will rip your pocket to shreds if you try to carry it. The knurling is highly aggressive. No thumb support because of the backside tip.Uses Parker refils, if you care.

The tactical features are great and as advertised. Unfortunately the writing quality is poor, with frequent stops and some smearing. A pen must, first and foremost, write well. This one (or at least the one I received) does not.
