This Stair Lift is Life Changing and Affordable!
If I could give AmeriGlide and this Stair Lift a 10 star rating, I would! After getting quotes from $12K - $25K to have a stair lift installed, I decided to search Amazon just for kicks. I came across the AmeriGlide Stair Lift. Thinking the price was too good to be true, I read ALL of the reviews/videos. Everyone raved what a great chair this was and how easy it was to install themselves. I couldn't agree more! AmeriGlide ships the next business day and it arrived via Ground 5 days later. After reading the install instructions, I called the company with a few questions. The Tech Specialist was fabulous, answered all my questions, gave me some helpful hints and sent me a YouTube video with step by step intall instructions. 2 hours later, the chair was installed and running! We had invited my 91 YO dad to live with us, but knew we'd need to purchase a stair lift to get him to the bedroom floor. We couldn't be more thrilled with AmeriGlide, it's staff and it's products!

Seems like a nice unit
I dropped it down a star because they to fight to get the rails to slide together. Beyond that it’s replacing an obsolete unit that quit on us. Big difference in weight between them . The light weight aluminum rail was easy to move around as a full piece of track . The drive unit seemed easy to mount as well. The power can be connected on top or bottom of the rail . Unfortunately the power cord on the new unit was shorter power cord than our old dinosaur that beast had 15 ft cord so I suspected a new outlet would have been needed to be put in anyway. Seems like a good value for the price, hopefully it last the 20 years like the one it replaced Time will tell. Oh thought we had missing a small bag of parts . I had called they were going to send them but in the meantime I had found it at the edge underneath our freezer . So seems like it’s a good company that wants to take care of their customers satisfaction. The rail box end was slightly open when it was delivered but the rail had a protective cover and wrapped really good . Not sure if that why the track was hard going together or if it’s a common for them to be that way . Compared to the older unit this is a lot quicker to go up and down on . And best of all remote control boxes. No extra wires running around for the top or bottom controls.

Worked five times, never worked again
Bought this stairglide and installed myself. Everything worked for the first few trips then in the middle of the night, it just started beeping. No one was even near it. The tech support team attempted to assist in it's repair but after replacing a set of sensors and a board it would go up but not down and again just sat and beeped. It outlived the person who it was purchased for but provided very little comfort or ease for them. The support person who I spoke with on multiple ocassions did their best to assist me. I give him 5 stars for attempting to fix the issue.

Good value, pretty easy to install
The delivery, packaging, and instructions on installing it were clear and clean. It took me probably 10 hours total to install it, with some interruptions. I had three challenges.1. The sensing bolt for the seat is run all the way in at delivery and MUST be backed out maybe 1/8 inch to be read by the sensor. Unit will not run with the sensing cables plugged in without doing this. Many have experienced it. They are trying to update the instructions.2. I forgot to install the sensing strip at the top to stop the unit. My fault. No damage, worked fine when I did it.3. I screwed the feet to the steps too far away from the edge and the foot rest connected with the steps. Didn't take long to change it. (note: really helps to have the recommended drill with extension rod to screw in feet.Works great. Just started, but see no challenges. 1/3 the price of a competitor I had received a quote from.

All aspects are great
I ordered this for my in-laws and I installed it about 3-4 weeks ago. The YouTube directions for installation were clear and concise. The stair measuring procedure for ordering was the same. I have no other formal knowledge or experience with stair lifts but the quality appears excellent. After installation the machine would stop periodically apparently when the riders weight was off center changing the balance and there was a clunking noise that would start when the chair got 4 ft from the top. I just assumed that dealing with customer service/support would be a nightmare. I called and explained the problems and the gentleman on the phone knew exactly the issue and how to fix it. Within 10 minutes after I hung up, I was able to fix both issues following his adjustment recommendations. So quality, ease of install and customer service were excellent in my opinion. As these units are for elderly or disabled I will update my review if anything negative pops up, but I’m am optimistic based on my experience thus far.

Exactly as advertised!
As advertised. Installed this on a staircase so my parents didn’t have to try and tackle the stairs. It’s been installed for around 8 or 9 months with daily usage multiple times a day. No complaints here!

Great product. More QA needed
It’s a great product and easy to install however, they sent all of the legs assembled incorrectly. The square hole should line up with the square on the bolt so that you can tighten it without 2 wrenches. Make sure yours are put together correctly prior to trying to install them on the rail. It will save you the 45 mins I was dinking around with it in frustration before noticing it actually had the needed square holes.
