Simple, cheap, does everything I need it to
I'm possibly not the most demanding user of this as all I want is a control I can keep in reach to refocus the camera while filming, but it fulfils exactly that purpose for a small price. Once you learn to judge what is a half-press and a full press, it's trivially easy to use and always does what you ask.Perhaps a longer cable would be useful, but the one fitted is still long enough to be within reach to grab for focusing.

Canon Shutter Remote Control
Very useful for attaching to camera on a tripod when camera shake is to be avoided at all costs. Needed this item in a hurry, pity delivery person put it through the door of a house 4 doors away.

It's cheaply made and plasticky. But it works absolutely fine so I'm happy given the low price.
