Rather weighty but not too heavy that they will pull on your hair. I have fine thin hair but they sit nicely. Love the designs. Small scratch on the pin but not a deal breaker.

They are very pretty and made well. The only problem I have is they are small, so not a lot of hair in them, and the post only goes through one set of holes on each one, which is difficult to insert correctly when doing it yourself.

As listed in the discription these hair pins are on the small side (my hair is very thin sooooo, not a problem). They are not very heavy especially the smaller thinner design - the larger the design the heavier it is..... Each comes with its own pin - I got two "dragon" pins, three knob pins, and one Celtic knot pin. The "dragon" pins are shorter than the others and the knot pin is thicker to match the clips they go with .... Be aware the pins are bendable if you need to bend it to capture a little more hair... Just don't get rough with them - they are a soft metal. They are beautiful and I'm looking forward to using them... I can't even imagine what one of these hairpins would sell for at a Renaissance fair or Celtic festival... Definitely a great price for this set!

They are well made but are metal. I used a hair tie and then put it over to hide the hair tie. I have think hair so I could only use them on a half up/half down hair style

These hair accessories are fun bit the metal is week, flimsy and tarnished quite badly.It's unfortunate that the quality of the material is so bad because the styling is cute.
