Loved it
This was such a fun murder mystery historical romance. I was totally getting CSI show vibes if it was set back in the Victorian era.Michael is a detective and Amelie is a columnist for The Marriage Gazette. I loved seeing them work together and how their different perspectives and personalities affected how they saw things. Also there were so many fantastic side characters. The cousins, his partner and also her aunt were all so involved in the story and make it such a blast. I can’t wait to read more of their stories.

The gullible meets the jaded.
An interesting story where you are kept at the edge of your seat wondering if the villain is going to win or not. The romance was intriguing as well.

Great Read
This is my first book by Nancy Campbell Allen, I really enjoyed it.I wasn’t so sure reading the first chapter but by the third I was into it.I loved Amelie’s kind and trusting heart. Michael was wonderful and so protective.I loved their love story.I also loved Aunt Sally , the cousins and Winston. At times there were a lot of characters and it could be a bit confusing but overall a great fun read.Look forward to more.

4.5 stars
I absolutely loved this book. It was such a fun read. It's a slower-paced book (except for the last fourth where things really ramped up), but it was exactly what I needed at the time. This book was full of wonderful and likable characters. Amelie and Michael had great chemistry. Their banter was lively and so entertaining. And I really liked Amelie's cousins, Eva and Charlotte, and am hoping they get their own books.I really enjoyed the mystery. It was fun to play detective alongside Amelie and Michael. To try and figure out what was really going on with Harold Radcliffe. He seemed like a perfectly nice, proper, and charming guy, but was there a darkness lurking inside? Did he kill his wife? I was so invested in finding out the truth. All in all, this was another great historical romance from Nancy Campbell Allen. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys clean romance and cozy mysteries.

A charming story!
The Matchmaker's Lonely Heart was charming. I was not expecting it to have the sinister element as well as a sweet romantic element. That was a very nice surprise. I also loved Amelie and her cousins. I am hoping they each get a book in the future. They are fabulous characters and I want to know more about their backstories if possible. Anyhow, as far as romance goes, it is clean and fun. Not something that melts you but it was satisfying between Amelie and Michael. Overall, a wonderful read from a talented Author who never disappoints.

She is a new author to me and really enjoyed this book. I found the audible equally delightful. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Amelie
Interesting book. It seemed slow at first. It did pick up as the story went long. Detective Michael Baker of Bow Street, was immediately attractive if a little too serious. Amelie Hampton came across as very youthful. They both grew through the story, Michael that he had a heart, and Amelie grew to realize that the world was not as rosy as she had thought. They do get their HEA. I am wondering if this is the beginning of a series? I would like to see stories for Amelie's cousins Eva and Charlotte, as well as Aunt Sally. Then there is Michael's partner Winston; there is the making of a good story. The writing is smooth, although sometimes it seemed a bit modern. A good story overall.Recommended.

Couldn't put it down...
I read the first chapter and thought "Meh, I am not sure I am going to like this book." I was WRONG! Once started, I couldn't put it down. I read it in one sitting. I don't want to give anything away to spoil the story for you but will say that although we know the "villain" from the first, it does not detract from the story. The story follows the leads needed to pursue a conviction and the detective and Ahmelie's road to falling in love. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.....
